Nice place with a cosy atmosphere. Selection is not that wide, but what they have is fairly decent and priced just fine. Service is kind, quick and friendly. A bit on the busier side during the weekend, but like said before, its cosy and full of people in good mood. Fine place to stay after a walk around the old city centre.

Nice cosy place next to the Aachen Dom. Not a cellar though. You get mostly Belgian and German beers, nothing too special, but some nice things. And they serve all the Belgians from their corresponding glasses - that’s a plus. A minus for service was that the barkeeper could not tell me from which brewery their Kriek was (it turned out to be Belle-Vue). Besides that, it was a nice place. Nothing special though.

Liked this place. Atmosphere more Belgian than German. Reasonable choice of beers and good service.

Scandinavian style pubs with tens of foreign beers on tap are practically unheard of in Germany. Moreover, Aachen is one of the few mid-size cities not to have an own brewpub. In this context, Domkeller is a decent and quite spacious place to pop in while in visiting the main sights in Aachen. In addition to the typically West German Pils, Weizen, Kölsch and Altbier, there some few foreign brews. At the time of visit late in the evening, the place was a bit too loud for my taste.

This might be the only* place in Aachen where the choice of beers is not limited to 1 middling Kölsch, 1 mediocre Alt, and 1 boring Pils. An appealing selection of renowned international (mostly Belgian) ales and some good German lagers. Served in fitting glassware, at prices lower than in Brussels. Neither in the "dome" nor a "cellar" but nice old, narrow, intricate rooms full of students, tourists and other good-humoured folks. Smoking permitted.
* Any objections from Aacheners? I hope so ... in order to be directed to a bar with decent beers from the region next time I’ll be there.
