Stopped here at the recommendation of some friends who had visited previously. Really a very nice taproom. Sat at the bar and the service was outstanding. All over it when we needed beers but otherwise let us be. Knew their products and were extremely friendly. Food looked very good, did not eat. 8 or 9 beers on tap, $5/pour I believe. Beer was anywhere from solid to excellent.
Stopped in before Great Taste and found a busy place. Not quite enough parking. The space is modern and a little sark. Bright 4í x 5í art hangs and it is bright Asian, and almost glow in the dark. EDM plus classic tock plays steadily. The beers are all rock solid. I had the sampler which consisted of 6 beers plus one on nitro. All good. I had a brat and had no complaints. Canít comment anout other offerings. Samantha was my server and knew her stuff and was quite personable. This place is very convenient and worth a return stop.
Modern looking place, sparsely populated on a Wednesday night. Six beers on offer, available as a flight. Popcorn available, but you have to ask; other snacks looked tasty. Beers were decent. Server was friendly. Nice mellow drinking spot.
A nice little spot for a beer in Madison. Pretty good service during my visit, did not have food while I visited. Worth stopping in for a growler fill, but definitely check to see what they have on tap before going if youíre looking for something in particular.
Great spot! Beers are great. Individually priced 5 oz pours - $2 per pour with $3 for special brews. Very reasonable, and I appreciate the flexibility in ordering. Didnít eat. Iíll be back every time Iím in the area. 6 beers on today, free parking in a parking lot.
(Visited 08/2014): Karben4 Brewing is located on Kinsman near Reindahl Park and the airport. There is a small parking lot in front of the building.
Not much to look at from the outside, it anchors an office park. Inside though is an interesting industrial/utilitarian look and feel with a gray and green color scheme, hanging lights, exposed HVAC and art on the walls. The bar runs along the interior of the space with table seating along the walls. The beers on tap are on placards behind the bar.
As for the beers, there were 9 available on our visit, including Clown Nose Scottish, Fantasy Factory IPA, Nightcall Porter, Idiot Farm IIPA, Tokyo Sauna APA, Block Party Amber, Lady Luck Irish Ale, UnderCover Mild, and Bourbon Barrel 1K-B4. Samplers are available, and the beers were all above average.
Service at the bar on a somewhat busy Friday evening was good. The bartenders were knowledgeable and friendly.
We did not have any food on our visit.
Overall this is a nice brewpub to visit in Madison.
The old Ale Asylum place. Looks pretty blah from the outside, but excellent indoors. Lots of brews on tap when I visited, including an excellent double IPA and barrel aged barleywine. 5 oz tasters available. Quick service up at the bar. Looks like they have a kitchen now (something Ale Asylum lacked), but I did not try any. Would visit again if in the area.
