Somewhat cramped bier + sausage joint in near Nordeast. Communal tables, plenty of TVs, bar service. The tap list is pretty large and primarily features locals (Bauhaus, Hammerheart, Surly, Bent Paddle). More exotic beers from further afield are also available (Alpine, Clown Shoes). Beer prices are a bit steep for the area. I havenít tried the food, but the menu offers plenty of creative proteins (rattlesnake, venison etc). The service is friendly, but sadly uninformed when it comes to beer. On my last visit, the barman excitedly offered a local IPA that I had never tried. Because of his extreme enthusiasm, I stupidly ordered a full pint without bothering to sample it first. It ended up being a total dumpster fire. Messy, flabby malt, harsh oniony bitterness. I want to believe in good faith that he simply had terrible taste in beer, and wasnít trying to offload some shitty product on me, but who knows? Anyway, this is a solid spot. Itís not worth a detour, but you could do a whole lot worse.

A cool little spot with a bierhaus type feel as it has two long picnic tables for seating in the middle surrounded by a few high tops and a bar at the back. A few TVs so a good place to catch a game if you are looking to do that. Service was fine but our fries did come out cold. About 20 local taps plus another 15 or so other craft taps and a number of tallboy cans available as well. Samplers of 4 available. The wurst I had was great! Prices were nice as well. A pretty cool place. I will be back.

Great place to watch the World Cup; not good for private conversation or comfortable dining. Bar service only, which probably means itíd be pretty slow to get what you need and pay if they were very busy. The tap list was disappointing, being made up of mostly 2nd and 3rd tier Minnesota breweries. Good food does its part.

Stop during the RBSG bus tour. Beer selection was pretty good, including some happy hour selections. The food was where its at around here though. I had a rabbit/rattlesnake sausage, absolutely awesome.

Visited August 16, 2013.

Stopped in as the last stop of the bus tour for RBSG that day. The beer list was pretty good. A sausage (from the "regular" list), a side, and a beer was $10. Didnít interact with the service much aside from stepping up to the counter and ordering food. There were some interesting people in the place as this seems to be a popular stop for people. Would go back for the food. Maybe not for the beer alone but as a beer/food combo I would stop in again.

If you like sausage and beer , New Bohemia is a great place. The sausage selections rotates weekly, with all sorts of tasty and also exotic meets. Iím not a big sausage guy, but they also have tasty french fries and homemade beer mustards that are good. I think the prices are bit high for the sausage, but if I like sausage more they might be more reasonable. The beer selection is very good, lots of taps and rotate quite frequently. Prices are very reasonable as well, especially if you can hit happy hour (and late night HH Mon-Thurs). The place has a bunch of long bier hall style tables. Kind of cool, unless you have to sit next to someone whoís kind of weird.

A modern, industrial take on a German beer hall. The vibe is a little sterile and angular, in my opinion, but I think others might really like the look they have going on. A lot of communal seating. Lots of TVs. Good place to watch a game. The food features a number of unique and delicious sausages, plus plenty of other good stuff. Beer selection is excellent, but as others have pointed out, I expected to see a few more German/Czech offerings on tap. Service was excellent. Nice addition to the TC scene.

Visited on a Sat. night around 10pm. Great modern Munich beer hall vibe. Plenty of TVs to catch sports. Awesome selection. Great prices. $3 latenight happy hour pours include Mojo on nitro (my favorite). Slightly slow/inattentive service. Sausages are good and unique.

This place opened in late summer 2012 across the street from Surdykís and in a former Panera Bread space. Theyíve done a very nice job of utilizing what wasnít a huge space and making it attractive. Although it didnít occur to me while I was there, cards04ís comment about being like a German beer hall has some merit. Long bench seating. Was there for a Goose Island tap takeover, so the selections that evening were more impressive than usual. The tap list generally skews heavily toward local brewers. The ordering set up is unique; you order your beer and food at a register and take a table number for your food. Had some of the sausages which were unique (alligator?, rattlesnake rabbit?). I left with a very favorable impression but a place that has "Wurst + Bierhaus" in itís name should have more than 1-2 German beers on tap.
