This is a much larger version of the Rouseís near downtown, and it has a parking lot. Itís in a quieter area of the city near the Bayou Beer Garden and Pearl Wine. This is a grocery store first and foremost so there isnít a need to head over here from far away if youíre closer to any number of other stores or bars (that sell bottles to go) if youíre looking for a good beer. If you are in the area however, itís about as good as any of the other stores with in a couple mile radius. Itís set up much like the other Rouseís location too where one wall is full of six packs and twelve packs and then there is separate shelf for singles (which include 5L mini kegs).
On this shelf I spotted some Dansk MjÝd offerings (including the Viking Blod), St Sebastians, Chimay, Corsendonk, Liefmans, Lindemans, and Orval, among other imports including some crappier ones like Newcastle, Modelo, and Carta Blanca. In terms of American-made beer there is Stone, Rogue, Abita, Sam Adams, New Belgium, and Ommegang. Not bad but just about the same exact stuff as you can find at the other location and presumably any of the Rouseís locations. Prices are decent, service is scarce but friendly, itís a grocery store. At least you can park at this one.
