76 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 14/20
Visited on 19/04/14 around 5pm a place my wife wanted to visit, having seen the fish tacos being bigged up in a guide book so it was a big bonus for me to discover 20+ taps of craft !!!
Located on two floors, the place is just off the sea front and has a kind of dive bar feel to it, some trash on the floor, ripped leather seating with foam on show - the missus pulled a bit of a face at this, thank god it was her choice!
That aside our experience here was first rate.
Prompt attentive service from the young waitresses, and the fish tacos - brilliant, big old lumps of fish for $3 or $4, Taco sampler also available for abour $12 with smaller size tacos, about 5 of them I think.
Just as iowaherkeye describes, lots of choice, Shark, Pollock, ceviche etc etc.
Beer choice was also solid, a couple of stone and Lagunitas seasonals and other SD area brews, the Mother Earth Kismet being my pick of the bunch.
No tasting flights unfortunately, all 16oz or 20oz pours, probably the only place in SD that I didnít come across tasters, that said our waitress gave me gernerous samples of a few beers.
Located approx 5 minutes walk from Pizza Port.
Solid venue, great fish tacos at good prices, decent tap list, top service and a fairly buzzing place just before the main dinner rush.
Will head back here for sure!

21 and over, cash only. Street parking, or else thereís a public lot just west of the building. 22ish taps, mostly CA stuff. Always have a couple Ballast Point seasonals on--currently Victory at Sea and Tongue Buckler--and served in shaker pints. Fish tacos are pretty great--standard is on a flour tortilla (untraditional), so I ask them for corn. $3.50ish per taco (wahoo, Mahi, shark, fried pollock, fried oyster, ceviche, steak). They donít necessarily know their beer, but service is usually prompt and friendly. Will also give samples if you donít know what to drink. They almost always have Sculpin and Trumer Pils, which the latter is a winner for me, especially pairing with the tacos. Has upper and lower floors, great view of the ocean and OB Pier, so you can wander out there afterwards, or stop next door for a waffle ice cream sandwich at the Lighthouse ice cream joint. Enough flat screen TVs to catch the game.
Man. Havenít rated a place in forever, but how South Beach isnít in the database is beyond me. Visited here three effing years ago!
