First visit to CS, and my buddy assured me this was a fine one-stop shopping right in the heart of things. Turned out to be very much the case, and I really enjoyed the warm environment and especially the excellent company/service of the proprietor. Terrific selections of domestic micros (international looked fine too, but time was short and my assessment wasn’t comprehensive), and the Colorado scene was abundantly represented, with loads from Trinity, Paradox, Crooked Stave, Funkwerks, and more. Great place, and would be eager to return if given the opportunity.

Not the biggest liquor store I have ever been to, nor does it have the best selection. That being said, for the size it has a phenomenal micro selection and the prices can not bee beat anywhere I have ever been. Not only are six and twelve-packs priced significantly lower, but their sales are great (up to half off for seasonals that are no longer in season!). Also, they have a pick six choice, not the most beers for it, but some unique ones that you do not usually see in pick sixes. Service was awesome; I am certain if I went back in a week the owner would recognize me and know what I got last time.

Very nice interior to this liquor store. Decent selection and prices, but nothing really exciting. Service was friendly and prices were decent. Good Colorado selection, especially locals.

Went to downtown and Coltrain recently. 10 for service. Manager was eager to assist. Well light and huge space for beer. The problem is the selection is weak. Nothing rare and most was what you could find anywhere in COS

This place is my new one stop shop. I came in after a couple of weeks of not stopping by and they have yet another entire section dedicated to craft brews! Great prices and the service is the best in town. They know my name even though I have only been by a few times. I am blown away. If you cant find something they will actually call around to other shops in town or even special order it in. It has been a long time since I have seen that anywhere. I grabbed some of the Ass kisser brews, and I cant wait to get home to pop a top.

I was in town to visit family and needed to stop and pick up a shitload of beer for myself and friends back home in Oklahoma where good beer is limited. I choose Downtown as my one spot to shop based on previous reviews, and I can confirm and echo those rave reviews. The service is outstanding. I was taken care of the moment I stepped in by all three staff members. They weren't pushy at all, just very helpful and eager for feedback, suggestions, and requests. The only thing missing was a pick-6 wall. I shared my disappointment and also shared the various ways other stores price and select brews for pick-6 walls. They were very understanding and said they would begin working on adding one immediately. I ended up getting 4 boxes stuffed with fine ales that filled up my car, all packed and loaded by the staff. I also got a cash discount, a sweet Trinity Brewing snifter, and help locating beers they hadn't even had a chance to pull from the back or entered into the system yet.
I will be back every time I'm in town, guaranteed. All beer stores should model themselves after Downtown. Outstanding job, can't wait to visit again and see how much they have expanded on what is a very good base for a new beer store.
Would like to see a larger bomber section with limited/special runs from brewers like Odell, Stone, Hoppin' Frog, Lost Abbey, and so on...but they were all very open and attentive to my suggestions. Downtown strives to please and it shows.
