Situé au coeur de l’action, la sélection est acceptable pour une fin de soirée mouvementée. Sur deux étages avec une déco vieillotte et des gens qui pullulent jusque dans les rues, comme il se doit pour Londres.

(Visited Apr 2014) Nice pub in the middle of Soho, not far from Piccadilly Circus. Interior is mainly brown wood, a bit bare and not very big, but it’s a proper, traditional pub. They had 7 real ales from interesting breweries and up to 10 well chosen keg beers of good quality. Service was friendly and efficient. Visited on a Sunday afternoon, it was not empty but fairly laid back. Nice and friendly place with a good beer selection. That combined with the location means I’ll definitely be back.

A solid venue in absolute terms but, on relatively speaking, this place is the best in its neighbourhood. They have a good range of beers on both cask and keg in addition to bottles. It’s a nice mix of modern craft and more traditional. The beers can be a touch pricey but this place has a frequent buyer card whereby after you purchase nine pints you get one free. In terms of ambiance it’s decent enough. Can get pretty rammed since this pub is in Soho, one of the most crowded areas of London. A really good local option.

Tiny little pub but so wonderfully in keeping with its Victorian facade. If you want to fully experience the Lyric visit twice, once at a weekday lunch when it’s empty to enjoy the surroundings and then after work on Thurs/Fri when you can barely move inside and stand outside. Great selection and changing all the time, the best bar in Soho.

Nice back street pub a couple of minutes from Piccadilly. Very nice selection of local taps and casks. Staff was nice and helpful. Big plus for the possibility of sitting in front of the open fire

First frequented this pub a number of times in the early to mid 2000’s as it was across the other side of Piccadilly to where I worked and never got to sit down in it once as it was always busy in the evenings. If you do get to see this pub in all its glory it’s a lovely small back-street place where seedy Soho begins and the ale selection is much improved.

Great addition to the central London beer scene, with a constantly changing selection of cask and keg (with a couple of regular kegs). Have always found something good in here - whether it’s some new beers, or favourites that you don’t often see in London. Condition has always been good in my experience, and staff are friendly and keen to serve quickly. Can get very packed on weekend evenings but for the time being there is space to stand in the alley beside the pub - they serve in plastic glasses if you are going to stand outside. Only downside is that prices are a little on the high side, even for ’standard’ beers. But still definitely worth a visit if you’re in the middle of town.

Much quieter than the Coffee House down the road. Selection is just as good if not better as well. Service was friendly and efficient which I like. Very easy place to pop in and out of in one drink. Great central location and prices reflect that. Will definitely pop back when in the area next

I frequent Lyric due to its rather brilliant location in the beer desert that once was Soho. It is a pseudo-refurb of a smallish Victorian boozer located just off Shaftsbury Av. On draft they have 8 Casks and 10 Kegs from microbreweries across the UK. There are no real permanent fixtures other than Camden and Brooklyn Lager on the Keg line. Examples of breweries on offer: Wild Beer Co, Dark Star, Titanic, Alpha State, Tempest etc. There is also a solid selection of bottles from Kernel, Pressure Drop, Rocky head and such like. They do a loyalty card so if you drink 9 pints (or 18 halves) you get a pint free – bonus! Food is better than your standard pub fare and they do pretty cheap lunch deals also. It’s great for a visit during the day but gets busy quickly at night. Thankfully there is decent space to stand outside at the side entrance. Anyway…. Lyric is a great addition to Central (touristy) London nonetheless.
