Great addition to the central London beer scene, with a constantly changing selection of cask and keg (with a couple of regular kegs). Have always found something good in here - whether itís some new beers, or favourites that you donít often see in London. Condition has always been good in my experience, and staff are friendly and keen to serve quickly. Can get very packed on weekend evenings but for the time being there is space to stand in the alley beside the pub - they serve in plastic glasses if you are going to stand outside. Only downside is that prices are a little on the high side, even for ístandardí beers. But still definitely worth a visit if youíre in the middle of town.

Much quieter than the Coffee House down the road. Selection is just as good if not better as well. Service was friendly and efficient which I like. Very easy place to pop in and out of in one drink. Great central location and prices donít reflect that which is good. Will definitely pop back when in the area next

I frequent Lyric due to its rather brilliant location in the beer desert that once was Soho. It is a pseudo-refurb of a smallish Victorian boozer located just off Shaftsbury Av. On draft they have 8 Casks and 10 Kegs from microbreweries across the UK. There are no real permanent fixtures other than Camden and Brooklyn Lager on the Keg line. Examples of breweries on offer: Wild Beer Co, Dark Star, Titanic, Alpha State, Tempest etc. There is also a solid selection of bottles from Kernel, Pressure Drop, Rocky head and such like. They do a loyalty card so if you drink 9 pints (or 18 halves) you get a pint free Ė bonus! Food is better than your standard pub fare and they do pretty cheap lunch deals also. Itís great for a visit during the day but gets busy quickly at night. Thankfully there is decent space to stand outside at the side entrance. AnywayÖ. Lyric is a great addition to Central (touristy) London nonetheless.

A nice laid back bar with a fair selection of interesting ales. Also has interesting bottles of beer.

Fantastic location. Sohoís been crying out for better pubs, so this place is a most welcomed addition to the area. The Lyricís a pretty cramped space. Thereís maybe room for 40 punters. The barís only ílightlyí refurbished, and it almost reminds me of a place like the Cock Tavern. Thereís about 6-8 cask options available plus a further 10 on keg. Camden Hells and Titanic Stout seem to be the only permanent beers. The options are reasonable, approachable. On my visit I tried a decent one-off mild from Windsor & Eton as well as a limon pale ale from Harbour. The bottles focus mainly on local breweries (Kernel, Pressure Drop, Rocky Head). Surprisingly, thereís a full food menu available. I didnít eat, but the Lyricís sister pub does excellent food, so I hope this place is similar. Prices were quite reasonable for Zone 1 London. Overall, a strong option for when youíre in the area. Between this place and the Old Coffee House, Soho doesnít seem so dire anymore...

Old style boozer (unrefurbished), which has been converted into a ícraft pubí with about 7/8 cask taps and 10 or so on keg (2 of which are ciders). Bottle selection is The Kernel, Camden Town, Rockey Head and Vedette, plus a couple of ciders. So some good choices but not extensive. Range currently features lots of Rocky Head, Harbour, Titanic Stout, Camden Town, Tiny Rebel. Great new addition to Soho and a new regular near my work to fill the craft beer black hole in the heart of central London.

Visited during their opening week on 02/05/13 just after 4pm.
Medium sized single roomed Victoriana style boozer with a bar to the left that creates a U shaped affect, stools at the window round one side and lower table seating at the other larger side furthest from the door.
There is also an upstairs room although I dindít check this out. Watch out for the death trap staircase to the downstairs gents toilet - open the door and its a sharp descent, youíve been warned!
Service was fine, the place wasnít too busy aside from 7 or 8 annoyingly pissed FC Basel fans. A few local office types arrived as I left.
8 cask lines, 11 taps, all micro/craft type stuff.
Part of the same group that own the North Pole and as such a loyalty card is available, buy 9 pints (presumably of cask - but didnít check) and get the 10th free!
A decent enough venue in the beer desert that is Soho and one Iíd definately stick my head inside again if passing by the area.
