Visited a few times before, and just again this week for a conference at the commission. While the place is nice, the whole Place de Lux has everything I hate about bars, and the feeling goes crescendo during happy hours. Loud crowded, obnoxious Euro crowd of interns and other staff. About the only reason to go there is to brag about your work successes and try to pick up a hot East European intern chick. Did not bother asking for their rare beers as it was too crowded but drank good cocktails. Beer selection is great for the location, and actually, Place de Lux is one area of Brussels that could use a good craft beer place these commission folks make a killing and would certainly spend their cash there. Could be enjoyable in off peak hours, but sadly I never go there when it’s that way.

Interesting place – located in a popular going out area. Happy hour is pretty popular, lots of people showing up here after work. Loud dance music – lots of fun to be had. Half litters of Carlsberg being passed around. Lots of people on the street partying etc. Pretty much total club atmosphere going on here. You might be wondering by this point why I added this place to RB. I didn’t expect to find any craft here either the first couple of times I showed up I drank Carlsberg not expecting to find much else here. One time I actually looked at their menu. Their menu has a beers of the world selection which does have a few duds like USA is represented by Budweiser but also Sam Adams but also Flying Dog. Mexico by Corona – just leave out Mexico maybe? Germany by Bittburger but also more interesting Vitus. The rest of the countries is totally of the map & unexpected, Denmark is represented by Mikkeller, Netherlands by Emelisse & De Molen, Scotland by Brewdog,… really impressive & hard to believe esp. since some of the beers on the menu I had never seen before in Belgium like this beer representing Canada – Dieu du Ciel. Some countryticks which I have never ever seen around these parts. Interestingly I saw here Samichlaus which was also sold at the same price as Budweiser, namely 4.5 euro which seems like an exceptional price for this one. Congratulations to whoever made this beerlist. It is a bit like a club where you can drink Mikkeller – interesting place.
