62 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 2/10 OVERALL 10/20
The place is dark. Many servers and a handful of bartenders make the service very quick. Usually they can answer any questions I throw at them as well. Their prices are a little ridiculous, but the offer many drafts, some of which are quite special. Their offerings on bottles and cans is also very extensive. I’ve also eaten there a few times and the food has always been good.

This place is just across the street from strip mall hell, but fortunately has its own parking. Inside is kind of classy, with a nice patio with a fire in the middle. Long, dark wood bar. Sample paddles available in sets of four. You write your choices on a postage stamp sived piece of scrap paper, good luck with that. Prices are shocking - it was the first time I’ve seen growlers for more than $50, of course that was for the 10% stuff, but still. Didn’t try the food. Worth a look if they happen to have interesting tap offerings. Their website beer menu was out of date, though, so you take your chances with that.

Located in a dinky strip mall not far from the law and business schools of UVA. Pleasant, if corporate, ambiance. Low-lighting, poured concrete, plenty of screens showing sport. The service was surprisingly good. My barman identified himself as a home brewer and was quick to provide tips on the local scene. The selection’s relatively interesting, though certainly not up to the standard of Beer Run. They have a lot of beer on draft and in bottles (frankly, I worry if they can turn it all over), and some of it’s fairly eye-catching, better than what most paint-by-numbers places would offer. The prices for beer are varied. A patient customer can actually find some pretty good deals. With that being said, some of the bottle prices are ludicrous. Overall, I’ll certainly be back, especially for their half price growler promotions.

Nice looking restaurant, a nice change from the shithole restaurants that previously occupied this space. In a little strip center so parking is ample. Family friendly but its near UVA so there’s also some of that crowd. Nice staff, friendly, helpful and generally knowledgeable. Good selection of mostly common beers, but they occasionally get something less common. Food is solid. The prices are decent on the food but astronomically high on the beer. They give half off growler fills on Thursdays, but growler fill prices are so high, half price is more in line for most things. I’d be here a lot if it weren’t for the obvious price gouging.

Awesome special, half price growlers fills on Thursday, tap takeovers and steal the glass every Tuesday. $5 steak night every Monday. 50 taps, all rotate on a fairly regular basis. Definitely one of the best beer selections in the area, bottle prices are a bit high though.
