Centrally located behind the Frauenkirche. Upstairs seats are a bit limited but there is more space downstairs. Service is very friendly and effective. Even when crowded you do not have to wait long without reservation. Food is way above the normal bavarian brewpub standards. Can be good to very good. Beer is from Andechser and of very good quality. Highly recommended.

Beautifully located in a quiet corner right next to the Frauenkirche. Sat there outside in a summer evening, very relaxing! I didn’t eat something so I can’t tell much about the food, but what was served at the neighbour tables looked delicious. Had their Doppelbock from tap, very tasty, although not my favourite Doppelbock.

This small place was a great option for us to avoid the crush of tourists that came to Munich for Oktoberfest. It was packed when we visited, but by locals, so the experience was great. Recommended.

The pork knuckle and doppelbock combination I had here was one of the highlights of my Munich trip. The beer was in excellent condition and they had no qualms about serving doppelbocks at 11.30.

Andechs joint right in the shadow of the giant double Bobby cathedral. Firt time we went, we were treated in a (what grew to feel typically) poor fashion by a surly and confrontational fraulein. The place was fairly busy but I wouldnt really excuse it for that reason. The second time we went was a far better representation. We were seated and accomodated finely. The food was excellent and exactly what I needed. They had the Doppelbock on tap and it was the day after Munich won the treble so everyone was making merry. The wall is coc full of photos of the patron meeting celebrities - Schwarzenegger and 2 popes. This was one of the best bars in Munich by my reckoning.

Tight squeeze in this typical Bavarian restaurant. Great food, excellent service and a nice selection of fresh beer. Don’t expect too many selections because they serve their own beer. But it is so good.

Lots of people so we had to sit in their cellar area, the ambiance and overall rating would probably be better if we sat in maiIn floor area, looked much better and nice up there. No food.

Very busy ground floor bar area. We went downstairs in what turned out to be the restaurant area. We were gracefully allowed to just have a drink there, but just one drink. Good for trying the four different Andechser beers. Service without a smile, though.

Great spot in central Munich, you just cannot miss it. Nice, old wood interior with old-fashioned benches and tables. It is just like a tourist would expect the Bavaria cliche. The place is crowded during the usual budy hours, but sometimes you’re lucky and get enough place. Nice patio during the warmer months. Selection of beer is -naturally- quite limited, there are only the Andechser beers plus three, four others. Like that place a lot, but I don’t like so many people on one small bench.

*** SCAM ALERT ** Really sweet spot near a Muncih cathedral (Dom) - wonderful inexpensive snacks and pricier mains for enjoying with a ’flight’ of small glasses to try all the beers.
The waiter was a douche bag - SERVICE =1 - who tried to way, WAY overcharge me for my modest but sustaining and tasty meat-patty appetizer. Tourists watch out!!!
