Large supermarket. When you have walked along the endless shelf with generic Portuguese lager, there is a small shelf with some OK beer. Mainly well known brands, like Leffe, Chimay etc. that make strong, sweet beer. I also found a bottle of Brewdog’s Hardcore IPA. In a town like Cascais, this is quite welcome, but don’t expect dipas, lambic or anything advanced. Notice on location: The original map here was wriong. The shop is situated right above the railways station, east of the roundabout, and the entrance is in Av. Marginal. However, according to Google Maps (that has the location right), the actuall adress is "Estr. Nacional 6, cascais", but that also gave the wrong location when I tried to fix it.

Just few minutes by foot from the main beach and main rail and bus station. Quite large and very well equipped supermarket (everythigh, including beers). You can expect standard macro European beers (Heineken, Carlsberg, some Germans), but also here’s the best selection of domestic (alcohol and non alcohol) beers that I’ve seen in Portugal. Prices were ok, of course. If you are in the neighbourhood take 10-15 minutes of your time, you’ll not regret.

Large Supermarket just on the edge of Cascais as you head to Estoril (5 mins walk from town centre). As you enter turn left and the beers occupy one long aisle at the far end. 30 to 40 bottles on offer, I counted 17 Portuguese, plus German (Fransiskaner), Belgium (Chimay, Duvel, Leffe’s) and a few other common European offerings. Dirt cheap pricing on the PT stuff, much more expensive on the imports, probably US level pricing. Good store for the beer desert that is PT, one visit to the PT shelf will yield you enough rates to propel you to 28th place in the PT top 50 (as at September ’13) and all for under 10 Euros !!! (£9/$14).
