Stopped in after a painfully long dentist appointment. Too bad this wasn’t here when I lived in the area. This is in the same shopping center as a Home Depot, across the street from a Trader Joes, and up the street from a video game store that sells old games (going back to NES). Also, there used to be an all night Mexican restaurant that was great for a couple of tacos on the way home from a party. This Bevmo is brand new and set up in the new style where they have several aisles of beer (not just one), a large liquor sign above the liquor aisle, and more open than the other locations. It’s also right off the freeway which means it might get some more traffic than some of the other locations. What this place (kind of) does right is putting some of the hoppy beers in the fridge. I saw Mongo, Racer 5, Ruination, Union Jack, Sculpin, Big Daddy, and Idiot IPA as well as others being kept cold. Then they have a whole other fridge full of Heineken and New Castle. No Orval to be found here, boo.

They have a small section of glassware, some “gourmet” cheese, and an end cap that says “neighborhood picks”. I was a little confused as this place just opened so I don’t know what these favorites are (there were some German and some American beers mixed in there). Since I pass through the area on occasion I might be stopping back in but I’d rather just go to Lone Hill or Walnut Liquorette.
