A nice brewpub right next to the ferry quay, the perfect way to round out your visit to Suomenlinna. Beers are nothing out of the ordinary, but they’re tasty enough, particularly the porter. We sat out in the back terrace area and got tasters of everything, which was only 4 beers. Bartender was amiable and described all the selections well. Did not eat.

Can’t really beat a brewpub on an island, especially after walking around that island for miles in the afternoon sun. We sat inside, where it was nearly empty, and enjoyed some excellent raspberry sorbet and a few of the house beers on draft. Service was typical Finnish (they’re not going to bother you unless you indicate you want something). Very nice environment, clean, comfy. Beers are pretty decent and can get get them in multiple serving sizes, which I love.

Great brewpub on Suomenilinnan island. 10 euro taster got us the 4 house brews, a bit less than 2 pints in total! Great value, decent selection, great atmosphere & knowledgeable+friendly staff that seemed keen on educating people. A great place. The beer I liked the best was the Helsinki Porter though the pils & amphibian were solid too. The Coyot was disappointing.

The low scores for this place are hard to understand, esp. in several cases where the reviewer said nothing but positive things. Peter knows how to brew great beer, it’s pretty much that simple. I suppose without extreme or sour or other trendy beers, most beer geeks are bored by porters, pale ales, and pilsners. But when they are made this cleanly and traditionally, how can you not get excited about them? We tried six or seven different beers during this visit, and there wasn’t a single dud in the lot. And with tasty food available and a cool ferry ride as part of the experience...this is a no-brainer. Quite pricey, as is the case throughout Helsinki, but It’s a must-visit for fans of precision brewing.

I stopped here mainly to get some food but seeing they had some house beers give one a try. With only three on tap this feels more like a tourist destination than a serious brewpub. At 3.50 euro for a taster it is also pretty expensive (or at least on par with the other bars).
If you’re looking for somewhere to get a beer while checking out Suomenlinna give this place a visit. Otherwise if you have the patience to wait 30 minutes the ferry will drop you off about three minutes walk from a much better brewpub near the Senate Cathedral and Market Square.

On the Suomenlinna island. In the most beautiful beer location in Finland. Has their own beers on tap, which are ok.

Great food. Nice sunny summer terrace. Selection of beers is not quite wide.

A bit of a fine-dining restaurant with a brewing facility on an old fortress-island outside of Helsinki. They serve their own beer, but unfortunately only a small subset of that limited set on tap. But worth a visit as there’s nothing better nearby, and the sea fortress itself is a really nice place to hang out at. Simple interior. Traditional Finnish cuisine, well made. On a sunny day, their patio is one of my favourite places in Helsinki to sit and enjoy good company.

We made a short stop here after a walk around the marvelous island. Service was very slow and unfriendly. They had three own beers on tap, and II just had one of them (Fabian Stout)... Little disappointed about this place :-(
