Walked here from downtown and did a bit of a walking tour of New Orleans. Nice two story place in a quieter part of town, though it was obvious that there was a Mardi Gras parade here recently as there were beads in the trees out front. Inside is a nice restaurant with what appears to be a good menu (the slow cooked short ribs looked good). It’s not so much a bar as it as a sit down restaurant but they do have a fair amount of good beer. A dozen taps, two thirds of which are Harp, Guinness, Newcastle, Smithwicks, etc. The last few are Abita, NOLA, and St Arnolds. So the tap list isn’t good. Surprising that an Irish bar would have a lack luster tap list (not really). The upside is that the bottle list is a bit more interesting. Mikkeller, Stone, Anchor, Chimay, Unibroue, de Ranke, and Augustiner. If you want to pay for a bottle you can find something good here but in reality you’re not far from Avenue Pub.

Great atmosphere with tons of authentic Irish decor and Irish music. Bartender was great and was well-versed. They serve highly-regarded food but we did not order any. Beer selection is not spectacular, but they offer the Irish staples that you expect. If you’re into whiskey this is a great place for you. Plan to return soon.
