New location, and in an area that I frequent, and they serve beer, happy days. Much like the location on Mission St in SF they serve beer, sausages, and have communal picnic tables to sit at. It’s literally across the street from Pacific Coast Brewing and kiddy corner from a place that I need to check out next time I’m in the area (don’t know much about it but they had a sandwich board advertising “hoppy hour” so it warrants further investigation). Many of the taps were northern California based which is a nice touch but to be honest I’d rather have a good beer than the novelty of a local beer, not that there isn’t good beer made locally just that I only have so much patience for the “buy local, damnit” mentality. As a kraut and an avid fan of beer and sausage I’ll be stopping back in on a somewhat regular basis. Oh, and I was told that they now have a new location in Brooklyn (NY) in case you find yourself travelling out that way.

the Oakland version of this mini-chain of restaurants. like the location in the mission in San Francisco, they have about 20 taps mostly of local beers to go with their selection of sausages. pretty standard offerings for a Bay Area bar, but perhaps a bit more emphasis on local east bay breweries (some line 51 taps, for instance). service is friendly and mostly reliant on you going to the bar, picking up your order, etc. located in old town Oakland across the street from pacific coast and very close to the Trappist and beer revolution. worth a stop.
