Visited the 23th August - The place is on a small street 20 meter away from the central street of Bethnal Green. On a peaceful crossroad. When you enter you will see directly the bar on the middle of the place. The place is really clean and clear with a modern touch. Good atmosphere and really friendly. The staff is really helpful and will serve taster if you asked. You will find a large selection of local and international beer on tap and cask with some bottle and can on a non excessive price. Really nice place, I recommend it.

Not the place to eat, but the best pub in the area, and i would say one of the best in London, to drink a big variety of excellent selection of craft beer, most of them local, but sometimes good international choices too. I love this place, quiet and with really good music.

(Visited April 2015) Quite a nice back street pub a couple of blocks away from Bethnal Green Road. Large bar in the middle, and lots of brown wood in the interior. They had 3-4 cask ales and a good selection of keg beers, both local and imported. Atmosphere was friendly and relaxed and service was friendly and efficient. Well worth a visit if youíre in the area.

Visited during the Crooked Stave tap take or event the place was overflowing with ratebeerians. Nice modern take on traditional beer pub. Plenty of choice. Beer was well looked after and the place was popular. Would like to try it again during a normal evening but worth the walk from Bethnal Green

Visited on Saturday 25/04/15 for the Crooked Stave meet the brewer/tap take over - so not a typical days business in terms of the beer selection ! A Victorian street corner boozer just off the main bethnal green drag, you can take this one in on foot between the Redhcurch Brewery Tap/Mother Kellyís and heading towads the Well & Bucket / BD Shoreditch. The place was pretty packed but not overloaded and service held up well, all beers clearly marked on a large board to the right of the bar as you enter, about 15 keg and maybe 5 cask but the keg list almost all CS I think. Crowd was pretty beer geek orientated as youíd expect with a xolid tap takeover like this, Paul reserved a table the evening before which served us well. The place itself is a decent sized single room trad boozer with plenty of wood on offer. They certainly know how to stage an event and Iíll definately swing by here again in the future, a sister pub to the Earl of Essex.

Quite a large corner local just off Bethnal Green Road and its cosmopolitan feel. This has more of a feel of an East End local, just missing a piano. There is panelling, tiling, wooden furniture, seemingly well restored. The bar girl was friendly and helpful with generous tasters to help us choose. Itís a good place to go.

Visited during RBESG 2012.
Nice local pub, friendly service, great selection. Serves halfs and thirds as well, always a sign of good service. Good place for a nice evening talking to old (and new) friends.

Lovely backstreet location - clearly the owners have done a great restoration job here - it retains bags of character, is comfortable and (most importantly) they clearly have a great load of beers. If I hadnít been on a crawl, I could have stayed here all night.

Located mid way across Bethnal Green Road, 5 walking minutes away from both Shoreditch High Street and Bethnal Green train stations. The place has several wooden benches and tables. Similar interiors decor to the Earl of Essex, which make total sense being the King Arms itís sister pub. It actually looks very similar to an Earl of Essex with no brewing equipment behind the bar. Extensive tap selection with c 20 lines of both kegs and casks. Continuously orating selection of US and UK micros mostly. Some Belgians and Nordics too. They also stock some delights in the fridges and run interesting tap takeovers quite frequently. I have no tried the food selection yet. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Overall, top notch spot for beer geeks and pleasant ambiance and decor, one of my favourites in London.

Visited Tuesday 24th Nov .. Classic old style pub with a modern selection on tap .. It was empty when we came cause just opened the doors .. The guy with a long beard had a easy going way to serve which was good for us in a empty bar .. Good for 1 beer or 2 in your Bethnal green / hackney pubs crawl ..
