Quite a large corner local just off Bethnal Green Road and its cosmopolitan feel. This has more of a feel of an East End local, just missing a piano. There is panelling, tiling, wooden furniture, seemingly well restored. The bar girl was friendly and helpful with generous tasters to help us choose. Itís a good place to go.

Visited during RBESG 2012.
Nice local pub, friendly service, great selection. Serves halfs and thirds as well, always a sign of good service. Good place for a nice evening talking to old (and new) friends.

Lovely backstreet location - clearly the owners have done a great restoration job here - it retains bags of character, is comfortable and (most importantly) they clearly have a great load of beers. If I hadnít been on a crawl, I could have stayed here all night.

Located mid way across Bethnal Green Road, 5 walking minutes away from both Shoreditch High Street and Bethnal Green train stations. The place has several wooden benches and tables. Similar interiors decor to the Earl of Essex, which make total sense being the King Arms itís sister pub. It actually looks very similar to an Earl of Essex with no brewing equipment behind the bar. Extensive tap selection with c 20 lines of both kegs and casks. Continuously orating selection of US and UK micros mostly. Some Belgians and Nordics too. They also stock some delights in the fridges and run interesting tap takeovers quite frequently. I have no tried the food selection yet. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Overall, top notch spot for beer geeks and pleasant ambiance and decor, one of my favourites in London.

Visited Tuesday 24th Nov .. Classic old style pub with a modern selection on tap .. It was empty when we came cause just opened the doors .. The guy with a long beard had a easy going way to serve which was good for us in a empty bar .. Good for 1 beer or 2 in your Bethnal green / hackney pubs crawl ..

Great selection on draft, average ambiance, not so friendly staff. Its a place you should definitely visit for the beer, but there is something that keeps you away from making it your local.

Cozy classical pub. Around twenty beers on tap and some bottles to complement it. Good amount of seating, decent prices and service.

A four-sided, medium sized, street corner pub in a quiet area, just off Bethnal Green Road. Established as a freehouse in December 2013. Sister pub to the Earl of Essex in Islington and Black Heart in Camden. Cozy pub with a dark green wooden dťcor, an island bar in the middle, and a little patio on the pavement outside. 13 kegs and six handpumps, including three serving ciders. Lots of bottles as well. Beers can be served in thirds. Helpful and friendly service. Metal, grunge and punk music in the background, very much to my liking. I really enjoyed my stay here on a Friday afternoon (visited 26.09.2014).

An old local pub that was bought and redone. Very nice decor and ambiance inside, selection is very impressive. They even had Cantillion on tap! Was absolutely packed when I visited. One of the more low key beer bars but was surprised and how good this place is! Would definitely go out of my way to visit again.
