Finally got around to visiting this place. They’ve done a nice job on it with a big open brown and woody interior, half barn and half brown café in a nice way. Beer selection is the same as the city center Rootz, a small tap selection of some decent Belgian standards and their own hoppy blond, along with the list of 200 odd bottles, split into Belgian and Dutch. Friendly service and prices are usual for the beer. Food is decent but prices are on the higher side.

Good ambiance. Nice big place. Tap choice is ok, no real surprises. They usually have their own beer on tap. Good mixture of Belgian and Dutch bottled beers but pricey.

Rootz is at the opposite end of the harbour to the Brouwcafé and on the side of the dock next to the yacht moorings. It’s a huge barn-like building but has a nice atmosphere. The beer list is very good and mainly Dutch with a few Belgian beers thrown in for good measure. There are nine taps which when were were there had seven regulars and two guests. Bar located in the harbour, has outside seating with nice view. Some standard taps, and some bottles from small Dutch breweries. They also have seasonal or changing taps but nothing was on when we were there... Prices for bottles are quite high.

Visited September 2014, with beery friends. Huge, cosy place, in the harbour area. Easy parking close by, or you can get there by the tram from city center. Had 2 of their own beers on tap, they have a few other taps as well as a good range of bottle beers, the sort you can find in most pubs :-).. They do food as well, but didn´t eat. Lots of seatings, both inside and outside. Friendly staff, think this place is more a nice bar / restaurent than a beery place. Would imagine it would be very nice in the summertime, sitting outside at the harbour, enjoying your beer..

Was here on a saturday evening. Bottle selection is outstanding, beer/food combo is excellent. Ambiance is very good. Only downside in our case was the service, they completely forgot about us, I got my RIS served in a weissenglass and they didn’t seem to know a lot about beer. Service was a real let down, but let’s hope we got the newbies :).

Brown interior. At the harbour. Looks nice, pretty cosy. Friendly service, in for a chat. Good selection of beers. Bunch of taps and even more bottles. Micro stuff and some more known beers (no real macro)... Close to the Brouwerscafe, evening of beer, two good places to visit. What else to say... Didn’t try the food... Prices are ok... Fine place!

The sister restaurant to the excellent Cafe Rootz, but in the harbour at Scheveningen. There is a decent selection of tap beers including three guests, but this place really excels with its bottled selection where there are more than 180 beers to choose from. The decor is superb and the food looks great although I have not tried it yet. It’s very much a summer place but with a loyal clientele during the winter months too. Come check this place out. Drink beers on the patio looking out on the harbour and the boats or sit inside when it gets a little cold out there. Excellent service and rock solid wi-fi. I really should spend more time here.
