Just one of the many chain restaurants in this franchise. They offer a few local taps with lots of national distribution and Macros. Yes, a few cask beers (they had two on my visit) I eat here only one time and it was similar to any of the other British beer Company’s I visited (Manchester, NH – Danvers, MA) I have also sampled Uncle Lumpy’s Vanilla Porter which is a porter brewed for the chain, yeaaaaah, I’ll pass.

An out-of-Town beer geek would have absolutely no reason to stop here because 10 other places in Portsmouth are way more interesting. (beer and food wise) Locals of Sea Coast NH: They do host tap take over once in a while. Yet for me this doesn’t even crack the top 10 places I visit in Portsmouth.

I had a few pints there the other day and figured I’d right a review. It’s located in a somewhat bland building, but the interior has charm. There’s an impressive, four-sided bar with a good "British pub" vibe right in the middle, and then more seating tucked away in nooks all around. The pizza was (surprisingly) excellent, and the service was great. There was a good selection of beer on draft, with one or two locals, a lot of bigger craft brands, and the UK/Irish brands you’d expect in a British pub. They also had three or four beers on cask, which is always excellent to see.

Had dinner and a few pints here on St Patricks Day. Very nice, brand new comfortable place, large bar with many taps. A large variety of local micro & nano brews on tap right next to the typical Irish and British regulars. Had a sampler of the Smutty Barleywine(cask conditioned) which was good, but instead chose to go with the Stone Grapefruit Slam, which knocked our socks off. Have eaten here twice since they opened, and the meals were excellent. The corned beef & cabbage was better than any I can remember - better than Mom’s. They are only -too- happy to offer up free samples of their various draft beers.
