Visited an historical site nearby, so thought I would give this a try. Wasnt in my opinion as bad as the reviews. They tried to make it enjoyable. Yes, the beers are mediocre. Had a small flight of Jacobsen beers that were OK. Had a sandwich that was decent. Service was friendly. If passing by, stop in for a few minutes.

Took the brewery tour and two beers come with the entry fee. The tour itself is self paced but there is really one room with information about Carlberg. They also have a portion of the worlds largest bottle collection on display. There is a tap room that does serve food but I did not have any. The dude serving the entry beer was friendly and gave me a little history of the beer I asked for. The service in the tap room wasnt so great. Still worth a visit if you are close and have nothing else to do.

Great range of Carlsberg. Knowledgeable staff. Interesting place to visit. However, no good beer.

A terrific old brewery and as good a brewery tour as youll find. Paid a visit during my trip to Denmark in 2008.

If you happen to be visiting this place anyway be sure to get a bottle or two of the Jacobsen Limited Edition Mermaid Porter as it is only available here from the gift shop and by mail order otherwise. If you are in Copenhagen and havent decided whether or not to go then dont bother unless you have plenty of time on hand. The beer itself is not worth your while. Update: Mermaid Porter has been sold out since May 2014. Hence no reason to go beerwise.

As Carlsberg beers arent worth drinking, this isnt really a place for good beer (although some Jacobsen brews are quite OK) but for beer history and architecture. The museum is really interesting and the architecture, especially the elephant gate outside the visitors centre, is really worth seeing. But if you are in a city like Copenhagen, this should be one of the last beer places to visit, as this city offers amazing locations! I once was there in a time when I wasnt that much into beer, so I would only recommend this for beer "beginners".

A bit boring to visit but the grounds and brewery area are very interesting. I was in the area for Copenhagen beer festival. The Carlsberg beer on tap is sufficient if you need a beer but go elsewhere. Gift shop was boring...
