An oasis in the wasteland of Detroit. Sketchy and interesting neighborhood, parking is not the issue people make it out to be. This single gentrified block houses this quite nice and very busy location. Tap and bottle list are expansive and great. No samplers so it limits your drinking. Food is great, mac and cheese way over hyped. For what you get a good deal and service was nice and friendly. Except for the food coma afterwards a great place to visit.

Donít know how I havenít rated this place yet. Been here tons of times. Amazing food, amazing beer. Always a great tap list. I recommend the Chicken Strut (smoked Amish half chicken) or the regular Pulled Pork. The mac ní cheese & sweet potato mash are excellent side dishes, too. Tap list rotates often with lots of gems popping up now & then. They recently had bottles of King Henry for only 30$ (cheap, considering the current aftermarket price). Service is dependent upon the day you go, the server you get, & how busy they are. Food generally comes out quick, as most of it is obviously "done" already. Prices are a touch high & the wait time to get in can be long on weekends or during sporting events. But a must-stop for people who love good beer & BBQ.

A nice popular stop in Detroit. You can usually expect a bit of a wait here as itís usually pretty packed. A cool look inside and patio area. A nice big brew selection of taps on the chalk board. Also a pretty big bottle selection with bombers. A lot of locals and others. The service is usually pretty average with a nice staff. The food is really good with a nice BBQ style selection. Iíve had things from fish to sandwiches to ribs all good stuff. The best thing in the whole place is the mac and cheese. Absolutely amazing. Most dishes come with choice of two sides and I usually have to go with two macs. A couple negatives are the usual long wait, pretty high prices, and can get very hot in the summer. Overall a nice place and I will continue to visit.

A solid spot in the D with a great tap list. The atmosphere and food are good and service is solid. A good beer spot, but there are better BBQ spots out there.

Immediately after you set foot inside the smell of amazing food overwhelms the senses. Next you see a top notch tap list that is a combination of the best in Michigan and a few from further afield. Put together it would be hard to come here without finding at least one worthwhile draft. Prices are typical of a high end place with the more limited going up to about $8.
The neighborhood itself is a little rough but there should be ample parking. While I may not go on a Friday night this is a definite stop in Detroit for Sunday brunch. Come hungry and leave full of great pork, ribs, and a couple pints of your favorite Midwestern styles.

Excellent tap selection, and traditionally uncommon - the most "common" beer I saw on tap here was Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald. Most of the beers are Michigan-centric with a sprinkling of non-MI. The first time I stopped by here I was lucky enough to stop by on the day when they were tapping KBS í13. Itís covered in wood paneling giving it a cabin-esque feel. It always seems to be crowded when I go here (even on a Tuesday night), but I think that says more about this being an oasis in a relatively run-down part of Detroit (a little more than most - be careful about where you park there are "break-in" warning signs). Well worth the trip , and the potential wait - the brisket and baby back ribs are excellent!

Friendly, bright revamped (earlier in 2013) spot downtown. Eye opening tap selection of styles and fresh beers. worth going out of the way for, one of the best selection in Detroit area if not the best. I am told the food is great.

Truly, truly, truly outstanding combination of spectacular food (if barbecue is of even passing interest to you) and a beer list to die for. Slows is in a typical downtown Detroit neighborhoods where the vacant lots and abandoned buildings are always nearby. Definitely follow the instructions on Slowsí website of where to park for $3.

Arrived around dinner time on a Saturday night and there was a pretty long wait list already. We managed to get a table on the patio fairly quickly though, we gambled on the rain holding off and did well. Patio is nice, you wouldnít really know that you are in Detroit! Tap list is impressive, with a decent mix of great beers I knew and local stuff I had never heard of. I tried Stone, Founders, Odd Side, and Motor City brews this visit. Most of our table got the "Your choice" plate of ribs, a second meat, and two sides. This is a ton of food. The mac and cheese was so big that it is almost entree sized elsewhere. The cornbread was some of the best I have ever had - light and fluffy and delicious. Ribs were very good, pulled pork was excellent. They have an assortment of sauces you add yourself. Overall, a great stop. Staff was friendly and relatively knowledgeable about the tap list, though our server confused a few beers with each other at one point. Will definitely come back here the next time I am in Detroit.
