Pretty ordinary yet nice Bavarian Bräustüberl in the touristic heart of Munich. The waitresses are not that young. 9 Schneider beers available (5 from taps) and 2 visiting taps: Tegernseer Hell and Karmeliten Kloster Dunkel.

First stop in München. Huge restaurant with a gift shop and the whole touristic deal. All the Schneider beers on tap is nice though, had a few that I hadn’t had before plus Aventinus, one of my all time favorites. We didn’t eat here but the food looked like pretty typical German grub. Prices in Munich are much higher than Bamberg, but that being taken into consideration the prices here were fair.

Visited the Brauhaus for dinner on a Saturday. A good traditional Bavarian ambiance. The place was almost full with mostly locals but still the service was very good. The waitress offered excellent recommendations. They had almost all their beers here. A good amount on tap & the special brews in bottles. The food was yummy & served in huge portions. A good value for money place given the fact that its in the city centre. The best part we enjoyed was tasting the eisbock accompanied by some fine deserts.

Comfy bavarian-style Bierkeller with a selection of Schneider’s excellent wheat brews. Thanks to the dark wooden interiour and worn decorated windows, menu of consisting of hearty Bavarian dishes, superbly original beers and relatively low amount of tourists, Weisses Haus might very well be the most interesting example of a classic Bavarian beer hall in the whole of Munich.

Big beer house with a friendly atmosphere. About 10 Schneider Weisse beers available along with a couple German guests. Drafts were extremely fresh and in great condition. Hopfen-Weisse in particular was amazing. Food is traditional German, lots of meat and sausage and potatoes, and was pretty tasty. Great prices for the quality and portions. Service was slow but the food came out very quickly after ordering. My favorite of the Munich brauhauses.

What a great place to finish my 6 country central Europe beer tour! This is easily the best classic/historical beer place in Munich. All due respect the the Hofbrauhaus...Schneider Weisses runs rings around it beer-wise. Don’t get me wrong...the Hofbrauhaus is also a must visit while in Munich...and eating/drinking in the garden there is almost a right of passage...especially at Oktoberfest time...but bottomline...the beers here are better...and some pretty good history to the place too. We sat out on the street tables with the sun setting on nearby Marianplatz. My favorite pour was the Tap 5 Meine Hopfenweiss...an amazing hoppy weiss beer. I also tried a bottle of their Tap X Porter Weiss...a totally enjoyable and unexpected treat. Back in the US we get some of their beers in bottles...and we have enjoyed their collaboration with NYC’s Brooklyn Brewery...so I knew to expect so good beer. The place did not disappoint!

Visited many times over the years, most recently summer 2012.
Centrally located, Weisses Brauhaus can be easily worked into a pub crawl.
Trad wood pannelled interior and service usually without a smile, acme rent a grumpy 54 year old frauline kind of affair!
The place is nearly always busy of an evening, usually tourists making up a large proportion of the crowd.
Usually 7 or 8 Schneider beers on tap. Meine Hopfen Weisses always tastes great here, much hoppier and fresher than any bottle Ive ever had.
Solid central Munchen Brauhaus and one that i always prioritise a return to.

It was very busy even on a Monday evening however service was great and had no dramas ordering a beer. Lively atmosphere in a somewhat traditional setting. The tap X was available but by the bottle only. A good place to get started for a beer in Munich.

Nice place, traditional vibes. Good beers on tap. The place is a touch commercialised, though, and I wish the staff didn’t take orders on touch-pad computers. But the beer is varied and good. Probably not the best value but you are in central Munich and places like this are big tourist attractions. Worth a visit.
