One of the newer additions to the Heartland Brewery chain, this place sports a more intimate sort of vibe than some of the other locations. You walk into to a dark wood and brass covered front pub area. There are some tables scattered about the opening area and a larger dining area further back. Food is standard chain fare and the beer is the usual line up of stuff.

Brewpub right off of Times Square. Large scale pub atmosphere. I had a beer at the bar. Scoped out the ratings first - the only beer that had decent ratings was the oatmeal stout, so I tried one of those; pretty decent. Didn’t eat, so can’t comment on the food. Service was OK. $7 for a pint - a bit on the pricy side, but I suppose that’s a high rent district. If you come here, do yourself a favor and walk down the block to BXL Belgian Cafe as well - good stuff.

I figured since the last time I was in NYC I stopped at the location in the Empire State Building that this time I’d check out a different location, even if they have the same beer. This one is set up more like a restaurant and less like a lounge. I got a booth near the back and had some dinner that was pretty good. I enjoyed the soup quite a bit and the steak wasn’t bad. The pint of the “Indian Pale Ale” was alright as was the seasonal that was on at the time. Nothing special really. While in the bathroom I saw a sign advertising a citra hopped gluten free pale ale. I really wanted to try it to see if even citra could save a gluten free beer but alas, they were out and the bartender had no idea when (or if) they would make it again. Too bad. Over all a nice place but like the other location, there is better beer nearby. Also, not sure if both places are rateable but next door (literally) is a bar with the same name that seems to operate independently of the restaurant. When I asked about buying a taster glass (it’s a miniature mug) they sent me next door where they happily sold me one… for $5.

Nice selection of house beers, including a sampler option. No problem finding a table on a Saturday afternoon. Service was very good - my server rewarded my inability to make a decision by offering me an extra beer. Standard pub/ restaurant food was prepared well and delivered timely.

Touristy place off Times Square.
Standard Heartland (Greenpoint) range.
Service was fine despite the place being pretty packed.
Not a venue to seek out but if you want to tick off their range you could build in a visit here.

This is the second Heartland location I visit. This first was the classic uber-busy one located right under the Empire State Building. This location has a bit more of a pub feeling (a BIG pub) than the Empire State Building location which really feels like a huge restaurant. Same number of boring beers on tap from what I can remember. I thought the food menu would be the same but it wasn’t the case. This location is basic pub burgers and the likes while the Empire state building had more meaty items. If you need a burger and a beer really bad… otherwise not worth it.

Visited on a Wednesday evening in August 2012.
It was the last order for the evening when I arrived, despite that I managed to order a flight with 8 beers. (13.95 USD)
The beers were ok but nothing sensational.
The service was ok but a bit stressful despite one hour before the official closing time.
An average brewpub with an ok ambiance and location. But not a place that I need to visit again.

Average brewpub with samplers.12.95$ for the 6 regular taps with option of +2$ upgrade for a seasonal. Friendly but busy staff that let me upgrade both seasonals eventhough it is not on the menu. Didnt try the food.

All of the Heartland Brewery locations are of pretty similar quality, which is to be expected. Same beer and the same general quality of food. Decent restaurant, average brew pub.

Went here for dinner before a show. Made reservations ahead of time so we did not have to wait. Large open room with breweriania on the walls. Service was slow and kept taken food to wrong tables. Beer selection was a wide range of styles. I had a flight od their stuff always on. Beer was ok, the stout and red lager were the best. The light lager was un drinkable and eberything else was bland.
Food was mostly steaks and burgers. My and my wife both got steaks. Mine was over cooked and just generally disappointing.
As far as cost, it was about average for Nyc, but with the other dings on food and quality, it is over expensive. Will not return.
