(Visited 03/2010): This Crown location is on Allisonville off E 62nd not too far from the Broad Ripple area on the Northwest side of Indy. There is a small private lot out front that could be difficult to navigate given how busy the intersection is and the weird angles of the roads. Inside the place is relatively small and has a convenience store vibe, complete with multiple video monitors behind the counter. The beer is on shelves in the center and there is more in coolers along the rear wall. The beer selection is pretty good given the space. Local and regional brewers like Brugge, Thee Floyds, Mad Anthony and Barley Island were all present. Likewise other craft brewers like Great Lakes, Stone, Rogue and others are represented. In addition there are quite a few imports available. Service was friendly on a weekday late afternoon. The guys behind the counter were friendly and actually very helpful in pointing me toward Brugge. Overall you usually canít go wrong visiting Crown and this one is definitely worth hitting in the area.

Typical liquor store atmosphere. Nothing special. Used to carry Indianapolis Brewery Dusseldorfer, which I loved.

Just happened to visit this store after stopping at Kahns on the way to meet a friend for lunch. Glad that we happened by as I found some of the rarest beer on my trip to Indiana at this location. On the shelves we found Stone Vertical 07 and 08, Three Floyds Moloko and others, Founders Backwoods Bastard, Breakfast Stout, Old Crumedgeon and others, Dark Horse Plead the 5th and others, Upland lambics, Struise Black Albert, several Mikkeller beers and many, many more. Andy knew his beer and has quite a nice collection at a very reasonable price. When I am back in the area you can bet that I will make another stop at this location.
