Arts centre bar with the largest selection of German beers in Wales. Six handpumps with a good selection of Welsh microís with others from farther afield plus a few bigger brewers. The German bottled selection is the star, usually 25-30 beers in the fridges, the same again in the cellar, all of which change regularly.

It can sometimes take a while to get served in here, regardless of how busy it is.
The place has recently recieved a refit, very modern and open with big tables, kind of feels like a canteen.
4 Cask ales and about 8 other beers on tap, it must be the only place in Wales where you can get Kaltenberg Hell on tap.
Great selection of Belgian and German bottles, you will be pushed to find many of these anywhere else in the area.
The cask ales are reasonably priced and the Kaltenberg Hell is the cheapest pint but overall it is rather pricey but you pay for the choice.

Ex-school in a slightly run-down area of Canton which, nevertheless, attracts an arty crowd who come to watch the plays/book signings/films put on here. The bar has 4 real ales which change regularly and a fridge full of mainly German bottled beers, including many good examples of Franconian beer. No list, so just peer at the fridge and ask about the ones you donít recognise! Very sociable, great food, a top place - only problem is that itís a 15-minute walk from the centre although buses go almost to the door.
