Awesome tap selection. Great bottle and can selection too. Menu looked good but I didnít eat. Good laid back service.

Visited for dinner and a beer on a Wednesday. I was there right before an Iowa Cubs game (who apparently play right across the street) so the place was loud and boisterous with a pre game crowd. Ambiance is well designed and clean ďdive barĒ feel along with several huge patios. Service at the bar was efficient, particularly given how busy they were. The beer selection is truly impressive, with a wide variety of styles and many harder to find beers - which can lead to some high prices. I appreciated how they featured Iowa beers in bold on the menu. They also offer beers to go and some beer flights. Neat place, though it was quick, I had a great visit. From a food perspective, certainly bar food - though the Philly style nachos I had were tasty. I will certainly try to hit this place again.
88 = ★★★★ (best in area, a must for locals and visitors)
I only use the total score, not the component parts.

This place ROCKS!. Super cute staff is well versed in the animal kingdom, particuarly Pallasís Cates and whales. Half a dozen TG on tap along with a shit load of other stuff. A bunch of Danish stuff rews in the cooler (To Ol, Mikkeller, Evil Twin). So many goodies on tap that it was hard to choose. jkjkjkjjkkjljmkjk, I went with TGLOL. CIB one offs occasionally offered. One of the best places to grab a brew in town.

This place gives "and a whole bunch of crazy crap on the walls" an entire new meaning. Tons of beer stuff with lots of other random things. And the beer list is extensive. Lots of import bottles, lots of Iowa locals on tap, and a bunch of other craft beers you donít see every where. There is a bar food menu but i didnít eat. This is the beer place in Des Moines.

Stopped by here on a recent trip to Des Moines on a tip from a friend. Walking into the place, I was immediately impressed with the tap wall and bottle selection. This contributed to a cool ambiance, especially with all of the vintage bar / beer decor. Service was good. Bartender was knowedgeable and attentive. Did not have food. Prices were a little high, especially on the bottled selection. They wanted approximately a 25% premium over what you would pay at a liquor store or online for the same beer. Overall, my trip here was great. Had a good time and tried quite a few new beers. Definitely a must stop.

Visited with family over Thanksgiving weekend. Obviously an excellent selection of local, rare and interesting beers I had never heard of. Fresh IPAs all over the menu, good pricing and the food looked very good, but I did not eat. Really not enough good things to say about it!

I canít believe I just now made it here! We visited on a Friday night, and the place was packed. We ended up finding a spot at the bar though. The crowd was mostly young and way too much Bud Light was being ordered given the selection. Despite the crowd, the service was quick and bartenders were knowledgeable. The selection was better than I expected, probably the best Iíve seen in the state. A must-stop if youíre in the area.

Stopped by for lunch on a recent trip to Des Moines and had a great time. Bartender was friendly and knew his stuff. Food was decent and priced well. The tap and bottle selections were both excellent. Was able to buy a couple of bottles to take out. A must stop for sure!!

Located next door to the high life lounge which is a hoot in and of itself, this place is Full Court Pressís American craft beer bar with a few Evil Twins and Mikkellers thrown in. The tap list has multiple taps from places like Toppling Goliath, Boulevard, Founders, Bells, Goose Island, stone, Stillwater, and Deschutes. And you can also take your beers over to,highlife and vice versa. I wish I could have spent longer there because I feel itís one of the best beer bars in America.
