Restaurant with large patio on the street side. Nice interior. Friendly service, great food. They have a lot of average Belgian beers but the Dutch beers are much more interesting: Emelisse, De Molen, De Prael, het Uiltje,... A lot of Dutch microbreweries. A mus visit!

Visited on a Friday afternoon, quiet because they have no TVís and everyone was watching Italy lose to Costa Rica at The Fiddler (keep that in mind if you want/dont want to watch sports while enjoying your beer). I like the atmosphere, cozy with chill music playing. The selection is ok, but can be easily outdone, they have the classic Belgians and a few Dutch micros. The value is not bad for center city, but it will make a hole in your wallet if you spend the evening here. Didnít try the food, but they have a full menu (duh itís a restaurant) Decent place, but not worth a detour.

Good atmosphere. The selection of tap beers and bottled beers is good with a mixture of Dutch and Belgian beers. Wifi is spotty and barely works

Located in the centre of Den Haag, medieval from the outside. Nice atmosphere on the inside: old, dark wood, cosy... Friendly and helpfull staff! Very nice selection of beers from both tap and bottle. Got their beers specially brewed for them on tap. Bottle selection is less exciting for the beer nerd, but still a nice selection with good beers anyways. Worth a visit when in the centre. Didnít try the food, but I bet itís nice.

Visited on a sunny, but still a bit chilly, sunday afternoon. Sat outside. At first, the service was quite fast and nice, but later on it became a bit slow and uninterested. Too bad, because the beer menu is a nice mixture of small promising Dutch micros with macro Belgian stuff. Interior looks fantastic and ambiance was superb. Very decent food, had a lunch salad which was basic but good. Small beer suggestion I asked for (like I needed one :P, just to test them) was sufficient, although I doubt they really knew any of their beers. Menus on the table are made from old vinyl records. Again, looks are superb, so ambiance scores a perfect 5. Service started good, but went down to a little 6. Decent selection, decent food. Good place.

A decent pub with your standard Belgian beers but a bit busy and pricy for what you get. I donít bother

Only visited once. Decent place to visit when close already, but nothing to go out of your way for.

Passionate staff. Nice environment indoor, with peaceful patio on the pedestrian road. Solid list of bottles with the classic Belgians; not much attention for the Dutch micros; ordinary taps, but with a couple of guest taps (e.g. Xtreem Warrior). They played "Almost cut my hair" while i drink; I walk out while they play "Hurricane", and i feel like a naked little Stewie.
Nice place.

Iím not a huge fan of Rootz. It claims to be the Belgian of The Hague with around 70 beers. The selection is ok, with good variation, but the staff lacks skill and knowledge. I ordered a Westmalle Dubbel from draft and my glass was sticky outside (not rinsed well), my beer had no head left (took to long to serve) and it was a small serving size (0,25 liter) for 4,50 euro. Second time I went there I ordered a Triple Karmeliet, also on draft. The glass was again sticky and there was litterally no head on the beer. And thatís one of the most important features of the TK. Also, the service is slow and not alert at all.

I thought this was pretty good, but it was only my first day in The Hague. Upscale restaurant with a great ambiance in the basement restaurant and a decent patio on an unfortunate street (too busy). Very good selection (76 beers at present) but not adventurous, except that an American will find at least a few that are unavailable in the U.S., esp. from the Belgian list. Good food.
