Pretty solid beer bar in the Back Bay. Large bottle list and very local tap list. Didn’t get any food, but lots of folks around us were eating. Pretty decent service. Loud music though.

Pretty average place. One positive is a pretty good tap lineup. Locally focused, as others have said. The place is crowded, but not in a good way. The $1 hot dog is indicative of their ironic approach to food. The service seems a little smarmy. It’s an OK stop if you’re in the area, but Bukowski does the same thing and does it better, and is only a few blocks away.

Probably one of my favorite beer bars while in Boston.
Daytime visit was great on a rainy day with the entire bar to myself. The garrulous bartender was helpful with samples, though it wasn’t hard to opt for the Founders Breakfast Stout.
Draft selection had mostly regional craft beers with a few quality imports. Bottle selection was very good but not excellent.
Location is convenient right off the green line and is a cool underground spot near the India Quality restaurant. Great for daytime drinking but I would reconsider for evening and/or game nights, given the proximity to Fenway.

I was here a few years ago. It was a very cool place. The staff wasn’t the nicest but the feel of the place made up for it.

Medium-sized basement bar right down the street from Wine Gallery - typical, low-light, loud music lounge kind of place - taps seem to focus on local stuff (harpoon, bbc, the tap), plus PBR for some reason - bottles consist of solid, though very readily availabe stuff (some DFH, Smuttynose, etc.) - friendly and cheerful staff - cash only, but they have an ATM right outside the front entrance - it seems like a place for well-off people in their early 30s to hang out and drink PBR (but in a totally ironic way, man) - as a beer bar it’s okay if you live within walking distance, but I probably wouldn’t even hop on the T for this.

I love the Depths, it’s my new favorite bar. They call their mug club "The Rack Pack": Once you drink all 106 beers on the checklist (within 6 months), you gain membership in the form of an inhouse mug engraved with the name of your preferred lowlife. The food is good, the servers remember your name, and the patio makes for a nice smokers’ lounge.
