Jimmy’s had just reopened after the recent devastating building explosion and collapse that occurred right next door. Fortunately, there were neighbouring businesses in the East Village that didn’t suffer direct damage from the event however were asked to remain closed until safe to open again. The streets surrounding the lot remain fenced off but are pedestrian friendly and at the time of writing access to Jimmy’s is accessible from East 7th Street. This is a good basement bar with interesting taps from NY breweries such as Other Half, Finback and Barrier. Snack’s available. The lass working the bar was attentive and chatty and even Jimmy was there to introduce himself. The bar attracts a good mix of folks enjoying the beers here. Great spot to grab a beer.

Rating nr 200!!!
Best service ive had so far in USA. Very familiar feeling small pub, in a cool neighborhoud . Both ladies working and the boss himself had a good knowledge of their products, and were happy to give me some tasters of rare cider and a ciderproduct. Prices were ok on draft, high on bottles. Selection was nice but not shocking. Just a place i’d wish to have had the chance to hang out longer. Loved it!

Small basement bar in the East Village. Small, but quality tap selection. Bottle prices varied from high to insane. Worth a visit but I’d probably check to see what was on tap before going out of my way.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon. The crowd was mixed between beer folks, and St Patrick’s Day spill over from nearby McSorleys. Led to a bunch of interesting interactions. This is a really cool, basement room, with a small bar up front, a few bar tables, and a back room that has more tables. Very much a cellar feeling, with a ton of character. The draft list was 12 beers, with all of them unique and well chosen. Bottle list was a bit less impressive, though between the two, there was something for everyone. Bartender was super helpful, very nice and welcoming, made me feel right at home. I ended up spending 3-4 hours at this place, and had a really great time.
88 = ★★★★ (best in area, a must for locals and visitors)
I only use the total score, not the component parts.

Saturday (2/16) night visit: Was very crowded, but we managed to find a table as soon as we walked in. Loved the ambiance of this cozy cellar dwelling. Nice wood and decor with dim lighting. Service was very attentive and friendly. The tap list was not huge, but was very interesting and unique supporting local brews that I didn’t see anywhere else in NYC. We didn’t order any food, but the menu looked good. A great craft beer experience!

Great atomosphere at the cozy basement dwelling. A nice selection and great events. Jimmy does a great job rotating the beers. A little pricy, but worth a visit.

Very nice cozy cellar. Good beer list (especially the beers on draft I liked a lot) and excellent service.
