Probably my favourite beer place ever. Staff is always helpful and really friendly. Prices are as low as it gets. Lou Pepe 750ml bottle for €15 in the tasting area. Gueuze vintage 2007 for €20. If you buy bottles to go, you can not find it cheaper anywhere! Incredible prices! A good idea would be to go in a group or sit around the big barrel and start talking to people. On two consecutive days my friend and I managed to have different tastings with 4-5 people. Top place!

Great visit! Got to meet some massive beer nerds like myself and tasted some rarities! Only gueuze and kriek left to take away, which was a shame as I really wanted to grab as much Fou’ Foune as I could get my hands on. Best price on Cantillon you will find in Brussels - 15 euro for Fou’ Foune 75cl. Great little souvenir shopping as well. Get some Lou Pepe if you can!

Visited today. Didn’t visit the brewery itself cause I did that a few years ago and still remember a guided visit is realy interesting. First to see all the infrastructure but also to get some explanation. Now I just went to drink & buy some. Selection for drinking is nice but unfortunately only gueuze & Kriek is available per glass, the rest by 75cl bottle so it’s better to visit with a small group to share some. Maybe on a next visit I pick a table where they already started to taste a bottle and offer to share another one. Maybe they could offer a limited number of bottles to taste by glass (even if there were only 2 regularly changing... It’s a nice place to sit and enjoy a beer.

The pinnacle of sour stuff, nice trip to the past with the old equipment, all the barrels and nice to try een Jonge Lambiek. Rather rough area but close to station Brussels Zuid/Midi.

Lieu incroyable, accueil formidable, la brasserie est idéale pour comprendre la fermentation spontanée, ne parlons pas de ce que lo’n peut boire sur place, des bières rares et incroyablement bonne. Merci !!!!

Visited here with my partner one weekday afternoon. The area around the brewery is pretty rough (a sign inside the brewery stresses the importance of not leaving any valuables inside your car). As you enter, the bar is on the left and merchandise on the right. You can’t take any bottles on sale at the bar out, but you can from the merch stand (no rarities available on our visit) where you can also book a tour (with or without a guide). Little organisation - perhaps understaffed - and people seemed to just wander around the brewery by themselves. At the bar I got a Zwanze 2012, which wasn’t great, no rhubarb at all. Lots of tourists (mostly American or Canadian) and I certainly felt like one when ordering. The area for drinking is small but pleasant, with old barrels / posters, but there was just something a bit odd and inauthentic about the place that seemed to be focussed towards eager tourists. 95 euros for a Cantillon plaque for example? 15 euro Rhubarb lambic that had no rhubarb whatsoever. Maybe it’s because we visited much better breweries with much better beer on our trip, but I won’t go out of my way to return.

So I was a bit hungover on my first ever visit to the Cantillon brewery. I trekked across town on a Saturday morning to find myself in an area of Anderlect that looks like it needs some gentrification. Opposite a scrap of disused urban land is the Cantillon brewery. Go through the door and you enter into another world. A beer drinkers’ paradise. Take the tour through the old building and marvel that this relic is still a live active brewery. Let the smells and sights carry you to a moment of quiet blissful contemplation. I could have whiled away hours in that wonderful building. Then go back downstairs to the bar and drink one of the rare and hard to find beers they serve. I had the Lambic D’Aunis and it was fabulous. The staff are friendly, helpful and attentive. This is as good as it gets for the beer drinker.
