The ultimate lambic experience. Quiet local place in a beautiful village with friendly customers and staff/owner. Service is personalized and presentation is top notch. Great lambic selection at a reasonable price which is rare nowadays. The draught lambic (Girardin) was in amazing shape. I don’t think it can get better than this, I’ll go with a perfect score.

Been here twice, always a great pleasure. The people working here give excellent service and the ambiance is out of this world. Extremely cosy and welcoming. The selection consists of mostly world class lambics and some extremely rare stuff. Some of the rare things are highly priced, but for example Moeder Lambic and DHVL are generally considerably more expensive. Many of the older bottles are really low in price and you can always find some real gems. Both visits have been some of my best pub experiences in my life overall.

The hiddem geem in Belgium. Worlds best lambic bar with lots and lots of old stuff. Actually hade some rea "white whale" beers my last visit. And then I found some american lambics from Allagash. A real surprice! Only open 4 hours a week on sundays.

From notes on our visit in May 2012. This place is known for its limited hours (about 15 hours a month) yet has the great selection of current and vintage lambics and gueuze including some where they’ve done their own blending. A group of 4 of us visited. We walked in being the only foreigners in the entire place. We were promptly provided with a beer list and served quickly about making a decision. The more current vintages were reasonably priced and even the more rare, cellar versions were on par compared to most any bar that actually have bottles of the rarest beers. Served in lambic baskets and proper glassware. Overall, a great experience, felt at home with the locals during the hour we were there. This is a world class beer bar that any lambic/gueuze fanatic has to experience at least once in their lifetime. Highly recommended, just remember only open on Sunday mid-mornings.

Here for the festival and the sunday after to drink with new friends. The list of beers wow goes back many years. Quite a good value for regular gueuze. expect to pay more for special beers.

visited during nacht van de grote dorst, so def will re-rate after ever visiting again . I’ve took a look on the menu , and prices here are very good . of course, its in a very small town , but still . Selection for sours def deserves a 100 % . All the ones that they should have ( and still are produced ) are here, together with some rarities . These last ones are more expensive, but thats only logical ;) Service is very friendly , and I know they know how to properly serve a beer . Don’t think they have any foods here . Some lesser points unfortunatly , is that this bar is open a few hours a week . Which makes it ’easier ’ to hold to good bottles, cause if nobody can buy them , they can continue to have em on the menu ... Plus its almost impossible to visit this for me ( and I can imagine many other people ) . Great place, and I would rate this even way higher if they would have a regular opening time ...

We went on a Sunday morning approximately one hour after opening and left 30 minutes after the closing time. Located in a small village not too far from Brussells and openened only a couple hours a week on Sunday. We were lucky enough to have a seat as it was quite crowded. More than that, we had a seat at the same table than the famous Uli. We were the only foreigners in the place, everybody else seemed to be locals. Superb ambiance. Cozy, well decorated, not too lound and kind of "out of time". Service was super friendly and they were serving the beers exactly as it should be (good temperature, nice presentation, carely poured, etc.). One of the owner sat at our table when the place became less crowded and it was fun to discuss with him. Selection is awesome for any lambic lover, including 5 unblended lambic on cask and a huge bottle list, including some pretty nice and rare vintage lambics. Some price on vintage bottles are high, but most are extremely reasonable and some are even dirt cheap. I dream of having a place like that one street away from my home. The is a lambic love paradise and it just became my highest rated place ever. Magical! / Update: I went back for the Night of the Great Thirst which is the most amazing beer Festival I ever went too. Only lambics (including some great bottles), great ambiance and perfectly organized. I will be back someday. We also went back on Sunday after Night of the Great Thirst and, again, we had an amazing time. This is the best beer place I have ever been to and I would be here every Sunday should I live in the area.

My favorite place in Belgium so far, possibly in the world. A pub that is literally opened 4 hours a week in the middle of a tiny village in rural Belgium. The inside of the pub itself is beautiful, very cozy atmosphere with tons of retro belgian beer memorabilia. The selection is outrageous, they had 5 unblended lambics on tap when we were there, and a very nice cellar full of vintage bottles. The prices are quite reasonable, even some of the vintage choices are quite accessible. Despite the place being quite full and full of locals the staff was quite friendly and helpful. They had 3 fonteinen cheese to snack on. I want to retire and live up the street from here.

This place is truly something special, hided in the outskirts of Brussels in Eizeringen this place only opens for 3 to 4 hours a week after Church on the Sunday. The ambiance is perfect, quiet and at time fun and upbeat. Sometimes some improv brass/jazz offs. Service can not be beaten here, they clearly do not re this place for profit or gains but from true love of beer. Attention to deal is everything from cellaring these amazing beers, to serving them! Noticing when we had poured the last of one bottle and preparing the next to be served. Selection is unbelievable so many world class breweries. Food they only served a Gueuze cheese when we were there but it was exquisite. Value i think the prices were extremely fair - They were charging 1 euro more for each year old vintage of the Lou Pepe Kriek!!!! Bargain Overall this is a place to come and reflect on amazing beers with like minded people.
