Needs to be viewed more in the context of the entire business (ie high quality deli foods, wine and beer). Not the biggest range but for most punters and especially tourists will be more than enough. Didnít visit the taproom but looked pretty good. Only 3 minute walk from our holiday digs and for mine was easily OBís best source of quality beer and wine.

Stopped in here on the way to Pizza Port since it was so close by. Similar feel to the BDBS in that it sort of feels like a corner bodega thanks to all the food they sell while still having a large selection of wine and beer sprinkled in. Atmosphere was decent enough. People coming in and grabbing supplies and quickly getting back to what they were doing. I noticed they had a taproom but it wasnít open due to the purveyor being in Belgium, lucky guy. Service was pretty good. I was asked if I needed any help once, always nice. Quality was pretty good. Lots of different accouterments to enhance your beers or wines available. Selection was a little small compared to some of the other shops I have visited in the area but they had some really nice bottles so that more than made up for it. Prices were on par with all of the other places I have encountered. Overall a nice local bottle shop with some really nice bottles. Not something I would go out of my way to visit but if you are in the area it is definitely worth a stop to check out.

Stopped in mainly because of the possibility of finding FFTW there. That didnt work, but I did find a nice selection of beers at reasonable prices inside a pretty cool market. Ordered a sandwich at the deli which was pretty bland, but otherwise a great experience. And they have their own parking, which is a plus in this area.

Stopped in here while in town just to see what they had. I was blown away. Shelf turds like Fantome Extra Sour, Saison, Printemps, and 3 Fonteninís Golden Blend, Cognac Brunch Weasel, Almanac. Picked up an Almanac Heirloom Pumpkin, Avery Rumpkin, Lost Abbey Cuvťe de Tomme, and HotD Fred from the Wood (2009 vintage no less). As an east coaster this was awesome. Lots of other choices but shipping is getting expensive. Prices werenít out of whack but not great either. Nice staff, also food and cheeses and wine. Apparently they also do beer tastings here. Neat spot and plenty of awesome brews (I am nice and left the last Rumpkin for someone else). Highly recommended.

Solid bottleshop in San Diego that always seems to have the favorites (Alpine, Russian River, etc.). Good prices, friendly staff, and since itís a grocery store (with a deli), you can grab some food to go with your beer.

A corner market place in Ocean Beach. I went for beer, so I canít tell you about the fancy schmancy organic food options. I can tell you that they had a great local (and out of area) beer selections at fair prices. Guys behind the counter knew beer and were friendly. I picked up some Blind Pig and Pliny for the trip back east in my luggage...but they had numerous other good local options. Singles available at very fair prices.

Not particularly a beer destination. They have a respectable collection of bottles, but nothing thatís not readily found elsewhere. They have some decent sandwiches on the menu, but I donít quite get the high rating.

Nice marketplace with good sandwiches and a very good beer selection. Small patio outside. Worth a stop for a quick bite and a nice brew.

Mike is the man! Always getting in bottles I want, and pricing them really well.
There are other great bottle shops in north county (HWC and PPBS), and some in south county (SBD), but olive tree really is the best bottle shop in San Diego county. The tasting room they opened is just the icing on the cake.
Mike has done very impressive things with a somewhat unassuming neighborhood market in OB. And is the only reason (sans pizza port) that iíll venture into OB.
