I think this is the only pub with a decent beer selection in Sydney, and that is just big spruce products and Garrisons. The food is good if a bit pricy.

This is more of an observation of Sydney than Governors Pub, but why visit? Iím originally from Michigan, and this town permeates desperation like Flint. Really sad town. Governors is the only thing to do in the area. Seriously. Nice enough place with a respectable tap list, but you wonít want to stay long unless you have to.

Nice old building with a dining room downstairs and a pub up top. Nice decks on both levels. They have a nice tap list (better now with the addition of some local micros). Friendly service and reasonable prices - Iíve only eaten here once, but the food was lovely. Itís really the only game in town if youíre looking for craft beer.

Lovely building overlooking Sydney harbour. Great interior dťcor. Layout in a more restaurant style. I would like to see a couple of leather seats by the fireplace to sit, read and have a beer. The pub has a good British feel. Beer selection is very limited. Stella, Guinness, the Keiths family and a selection of beer from Garrison. Decent food menu. The soup of the day is very good, served with a large home made scone. Friendly service and the best value in town. If your going to go out and have a beer in Sydney. This is the place to go.

Went to the Governorís Pub and Eatery during a recent trip to Sydney. The pub is located on the main street that runs alongside the ocean. The pub is in an old house with a restaurant downstairs and a bar upstairs. Outside patios both up and down stairs. I didnít eat the food, but it appeared to be upscale pub food. The on-tap beer selection included Guinness and several beers from Alexander Keith. The beer selection was mainly Irish and local Canadian in origin. There was live music, with an Irish fiddle and keyboard player.
