This is a great brewery. The food is amazing, they make there own sausage in house and get all their products from Michigan. The location is perfect right in the heart of the Grand Rapids bar district. The building and feel of the place is really cool. They dont have the best beer in Grand Rapids but it is still good and I try to get in there anytime I am in GR.

Loud, crowded. Otherwise, cozy atmosphere. "Organic" beers--interesting. Decent selection of beer (and full bar, for those in your party who havenít yet learned to appreciate craft brews) that they brew. Interesting food selections (gastropub chic, Iíd say). All a bit pricey, but solid. Their website seems to be very out of date with their selection choices--we skipped dessert somewhere else to try the beer gelato they mentioned on the website. Waitress said they hadnít had it in months and "someone better change our site."

I wound up going here twice due to other people enjoying the atmosphere. The place is large although it does tend to get crowded in the evenings. Service was timely and the wait staff is knowledgeable about what is available. Selection may vary but it looked like five regular beers and three special taps most of the time. Prices are a little expensive though in line with a typical upscale brewpub. If you are going to Hopcat it is worth crossing the street for a look and a few ticks before you move on to other bars.

The picture currently shown is the old place. They are now down town. It was crowded - to the gills, when I went. Beer was fine - a had a flight. But nothing special. And almost not worth the hassle of al the hipster people. Donít go on a weekend evening.

Visited 06.21.2013 on Beer Tip 2013. After Hopcat this place looks more chill but still cool. The beer Is pretty good, and The wait staff rocks. They do flights and my buddies do a few too many. But overall a good place. Now to bed and then some KBS and on to the Lake

Gets really crowded on weekends. I stopped in for lunch on a weekday, and it wasnít nearly as bad. Service was good.

Stopped after game at Van andel, this is right next door, down the street from hop cat and the BOB. Nice crowd, service was good. Had okish food. Had 10 on draft, a great pils, a really good rye PA, a good nut brown and Ipa, an ok black lager (tough style), and okish hefeweizen. The other 4 beers sucked. They do samples and had some good choices, be sure to taste before ordering with the wide variability of their beers.

Decent selection of beers brewed on site. The service could have been better but it was a bit crowded. Decent all around.

Right down the block from Hopcat, stopped in for a sampler before heading to the Bob and Hopcat. The prices were reasonable, I think $6 for a sampler of six beers. The waitress actually gave me them all as she saw I was taking notes. The beer wasnít spectacular, but it was a lot better than the old Grand Rapids on 28th Street. Wooden dťcor with a lot of big long tables. Service was pretty good and with 10 beers on tap the selection was decent as well. I didnít eat here but they had a $5 deal where you got a pint and a sausage, it was tough to pass that one up
