Granville Island beers are never exciting, I just try to hit something new there; the place is not bad, but a bit too much warehouse-like and too few places and too few people. The adjacent beer shop is really sad, they can really carry a few more Granville beers. Itís also annoying, last time I was there the only beer I wanted was sold in 6-packs, so "no, thanks".

Visited Friday June 19, 2015.
Arrived about 14:20 and stayed until 16:00. Had a flight of four beers, 3 made at the bigger plant and one there made small batch. Visible brewery, tours available. Fast friendly service, though some of the servers seems to not really know or perhaps care what theyíre doing. Didnít eat. Walked over from the city. Parking might be hard.

A large open and spacious brewpub in stunning Granville Island. Service was good with a decent amount of beer knowledge. I didnít eat but they have a good menu. Beer its mediocre with a Brewers tap which isnít much better. Pretty but lacks substance. Tasters are available.

Small brewery and tasting room not far from the market. On a weekend afternoon, itís fairly crowded, but they seem to turnover seats pretty quickly. Thereís also a retail store attached next door where you can buy bottles and other merchandise to take with you. Pretty clean, modern interior and decor.

They had eight beers on tap and do flights of four (thatís all you can get per person on the flight front, not sure about full pours). The beers are just sort of okay...nothing really special. Not horrendously priced, at least.

Might as well try to stop in as itís a convenient location when wandering around the island.

Their year-round lineup is pretty dull, but their seasonals have been getting better and better. Brewery tasting room itself is very comfy, with lots of tourists in the summer time. Worth a stop when in the area.

Stock standard brewery taproom. Filled with tourists as you canít really not walk past here. Still grab a flight and be on your way.

Nice taproom at the brewery with views of the brewing area. Friendly staff willing to pour half-samplers of brews at no cost. Medium-sized selection of GI beers on tap. Of course, GI beers arenít the best beers. But itís still a nice taproom, and the attached shop had a slightly larger selection of bottles.

I have not taken the tour, but stepped into the tasting room on one of Granville Islandís busiest strips. Perhaps not surprisingly, hoardes of tourists fill the place. The day we visited, perhaps not brilliantly on a Sunday afternoon, there was a long line only to get a seat. Once youíre in, you wonder why because the place feels quite generic. Plenty of glasses, an overemphasis on the color gray. Food menu is very limited. Beers are rather thin and not particularly captivating. Certainly not a must in Vancouver unless youíre a completist.

Not bad, if you like GIB. Sometimes they have seasonals you can taste but usually just the Molson produced stuff.

As far as tours go this is the best brewery tour Iíve been on. THey did a thorough job of explaining the process, the ingredients and basic history. The tour groups end up being friends creating a great post-tour tasting ambiance. The staff are incredibly friendly. Some good beers to get people started on Bitter ales.
