Small store, but no crap. Everything is available as singles, and almost everything has a RateBeer tag. Very good store.

Great beer store, less selection than total wines but carries a better assortment, and changes there variety more often.

Hands down the best beer store I have ever visited. Upon first glance, the store is a somewhat small Mom & Pop shop with a single aisle of beer on the right side. But donít let that fool you! While it is a somewhat smaller selection, it is an extraordinarily well thought out selection. I was greeted when I came in the door, but left alone to do my initial browsing. After a few minutes, Kevin, one of the owners approached me and asked to be of assistance. We probably talked beer for over a half hour before I even started my shopping. It is very clear that Kevin knows his stuff when it comes to beer. He made some wonderful suggestions from some breweries I had never heard of. To top it off, everything in the store can be bought in singles without any markup. That is an awesome option when youíre hesitant to buy a six-pack of something new. There are also regular tastings, but they tend to focus more on the wines, which I could care less about. Either way, this will be a regular stop for me.

This is one of the great advantages of living in VA Beach. Iím always looking forward to stop by and see what new beers Kevin tracked down. Great selection, super service and hands down one of the best beer stores out there (Sorry Deb.. wine store too).

Raided Total Wine and Whole Foods, then went to G&G. At first I thought I was in the wrong place because the inside of the store is custom glassware, jams, chutnies, home-made touristy goods. Uhh.. Walked in and still didnít see beer- oh there it is on the right wall. A good amount of single bottles separated out US and non-US. Picked up a few singles of stuff Iíd been wanting to try from Evil Twin, didnít see anything of interest really otherwise. Some odd low abv Italian stuff on sale for $3. A fresh case of Beach Brewing Hoptopus had arrived, but sitting out unfridged. -__- Staff was happy to have us in there. Only thing was that I felt awkward in this shop and the bottle list perusing was more like trying to look at a used car than stopping by for some beer. Overall, didnít see a whole lot here that wasnít for sale at Total Wine and Whole Foods though the prices for same beers were sometimes more expensive at G&G and sometimes less expensive. Hmm. Expect a lot of Terrapin, Italian oddities (Troll, Barley, Ducato), handfuls of De Dolle, Evil Twin/Mikkeller, Stillwater, De Proef Master Series.

This place its the real deal. Great bottle selection, and as noted in previous reviews, no "wasted" bottles. Staff was helpful and knowledgeable, and even offered to set some kbs aside for me when they get it in feb. I didnít find any of my whales here, but I was still impressed.

In a strip mall a few miles from the beaches. Huge selection of beers - great selection of regional, domestic and foreign beers - all available as singles. Great place.

Here is why this place is good:
1.) No wrong beers. No Bud Light, No Michelob Ultra, No Corona, No Peroni, No Coors, No Miller Lite. Hell, no Saranac either.
2.) The right stuff. This place only has specialty beers, so they donít waste any space on crap. Look at Total Wine, which might have more beers, but that store wastes space on crappy macros and loads of mediocre micros.
3.) Stuff they have: Mikkeller, Evil Twin, Thornbridge, Weyerbacher, Emelisse, Stillwater, Aecht, Weihenstephaner, Na Biretta, Lindemans, De Dolle, Hoppin Frog, and all that stuff. However, they try to stock as many beers as they can from each brewery. So you are not stuck looking at just one, but rather at 5-10 beers from each of those. Total Wine or something like that might have just one from each.
3.) Rate Beer Labels on everything.
4.) Extremely Clean. This looks like the Hallmark store when you walk inside, as the front is entirely filled with nick knacks. When I first walked in, I thought I was in the wrong store.
5.) Nice Staff. They even gave me and my ladyfriend tape to fix our car.
Prices are average. Cheaper than Chevy Chase in DC and about the same as Total Wine.
The only disadvantage of this place is that it is in Virginia Beach.

Great staff with lots of knowledge and always looking to help. For a small wine shop the beer selection is pretty good. They stock most of the popular beers in each style. Prices are average, no real deals here. Overall a great store for beer (and wine).

Went to this place while in town for a day based on the impressive RB ranking. While unassuming being in a strip mall and while the name suggests a wine store, this place had a nice little selection. The number of bottles wasnít huge, but everything seemed to be selected with great care. Talked to the owner for a bit and he was enthusiastic and super friendly. Only place I have ever been where the RB beer tags were used on nearly every single beer in stock. Highly recommend while in the area.
