Kevin and Deborah are wonderful, helpful, thoughtful and considerate. They make you feel welcome the first time and every consecutive time hence forth. The selection is excellent, we have found none better in Virginia Beach. I may need to direct deposit my pay check to them to save time as much as I buy from them. Thanks for bringing good beer to good beer people.

so my wife was going down this way for business and i looked this place up and said to her it is right down the street from where you are staying maybe you want to stop by. well she called me from the store and asked me what she should look for. i quickly found there web site and the owner and his wife helped lead her through the store and were quite helpful. she got a few of the bells brews that i donít get at home and i said have him pick one or two if there is enough room in your suitcase. he found her a barley wine from Virginia and a nice ipa. and wrapped it all in bubble wrap and boxed it to fly home. web site was very helpful and her review of the couple who run it was great as well as her impression of the store overall. thanks to the owners for being so helpful to my wife, she had a good beer experience and does not even drink it. she also said he had just received an award from ratebeer.com that he was proud of and showed her.

I have visited the store myself and my wife has been several times now. kevin is great and always has time for you. The selection is great, well organized, and shelf tags on most of his selection!

Best beer store in Hampton Roads Peninsula or Southside and thatís saying something because both Bon Vivant locations are great, too. Best selection now up to 400 bottles and constantly growing. I only pulled a point off of selection because they canít compete with the selection of places in other markets like State Line Liquors and Beeryard. But they are the best around here. I agree with everything others have said about Kevin and Deb and staff. Also great are the website and e-mails.

best beer store in the area, bar none. Kevin and Deb are spectacular, friendly, and very knowledgeable. As a beer geek, itís great to have someone who loves beer as much as I do trying his hardest to get great beer for his customers. Heís even sold me a couple bottles from his own private stash. Even better, they will hold new arrivals and limited releases for you if they know you, so be nice when you go in! the weekly thursday beer tasting are a great way to find new beers and every now and again something special is bound to get poured (pliny the younger, consecration, isabelle, double rocket etc.) the beer selection is constantly expanding and new stuff arrives every week. and certainly donít forget about the great wine and specialty food selection. If you live anywhere close, do yourself a favor and stop by G&G and tell them kenny sent you!

Iíd been told about this by some of my friends in the area and their interest in checking this place out while I visited. I checked out the beer list online and was impressed. From the outside of the store you wouldnít believe that this place could have such a good selection. This is not to say that it did not look good, but it certainly has more of a different feel. This is not the case once you actually get to their selection. What looks like a small section of the store is actually full of a vast array of beers that Iíve never seen collected in one place before (at least no beer store). I was in there for about an hour and talked to the owners for nearly the entire time. They have excellent tastes and were great to gauge about beers they carry. Brutally honest with their selection - telling me when they absolutely didnít like something and also suggestions about other beers (letting them sit a while for instance). Almost every beer in the store has a description with the overall percentage straight from RateBeer! This place will be a stopping point each time Iím in the area.

This is the only place to go for beer in the Va Beach area. By far the biggest and best selection of beers. Staff is super friendly. The owner, Kevin is always ready to talk beer and help you make your selection with honest opinions. Not afraid to tell you that a beer your looking at isnít that good. They now update new arrivals on Twitter which means you dont have to worry about that beer you must have selling out if you follow their feed.

Best place ever! This place lives up to all the great things ive read and more. The service is great. I was greeted when i walked in and they were prepared to answer any questions i had. I was looking for one beer in particular that happened to be all gone and the owner was nice enough to give (sell)me a bottle out of his own collection! My new favorite place.

Best beer store Iíve been too. Great selection of top rated micros and a good amount of harder to find imports. Best part about the place is the service. They treat you right and are very knowledgable. I could hang out all day.

Itís set in a strip mall near the VB main library, a good neighborhood. The staff was friendly, unobtrusive, and passionate about beer. The selection was great in both quantity and quality. This is a must stop for beer geeks vacationing in our little corner of the world. Itís not far from the oceanfront and features quite a few local brews. I got a Stone XI (mmmmmm) and some Old Richmonds.

Update May 2011: After leaving the area for 3 years and returning, Iíd heard that G&G had built from a great start, but putting eyes on their lineup made me a believer. Whenever I find a store that carries stuff Iíve never even heard of, that says something! With a full half of this store dedicated to quality brew, G&G is now THE retail stop in Hampton Roads. From obscure imports to just about any US micro available in Virginia, if you canít find it here, you canít find it. BTW, if you drop in, tell Kevin youíre a Ratebeerian and make an instant friend! Great people! Oct 2007 comments: A chance appointment on the south side of the water gave me the opportunity to check this place out and it was a pleasant surprise. The very friendly husband and wife team manage a small but power-packed lineup of quality brews, highlighted by a strong representation by Stone, including some cool Stone-related knick knacks. I managed to find a half dozen or so new ones, plus some harder to find gems (Oaked Bastard, for example). Bit far for me to be a regular visitor, but worth a stop if youíre in the area.
