Itís set in a strip mall near the VB main library, a good neighborhood. The staff was friendly, unobtrusive, and passionate about beer. The selection was great in both quantity and quality. This is a must stop for beer geeks vacationing in our little corner of the world. Itís not far from the oceanfront and features quite a few local brews. I got a Stone XI (mmmmmm) and some Old Richmonds.

Update May 2011: After leaving the area for 3 years and returning, Iíd heard that G&G had built from a great start, but putting eyes on their lineup made me a believer. Whenever I find a store that carries stuff Iíve never even heard of, that says something! With a full half of this store dedicated to quality brew, G&G is now THE retail stop in Hampton Roads. From obscure imports to just about any US micro available in Virginia, if you canít find it here, you canít find it. BTW, if you drop in, tell Kevin youíre a Ratebeerian and make an instant friend! Great people! Oct 2007 comments: A chance appointment on the south side of the water gave me the opportunity to check this place out and it was a pleasant surprise. The very friendly husband and wife team manage a small but power-packed lineup of quality brews, highlighted by a strong representation by Stone, including some cool Stone-related knick knacks. I managed to find a half dozen or so new ones, plus some harder to find gems (Oaked Bastard, for example). Bit far for me to be a regular visitor, but worth a stop if youíre in the area.

This store was a pleasure to visit. Excellent service, was welcomed By Kevin as soon as I walked in. He let me look around a few minutes & then we just started talking @ beer; how the place got started, how did I find out about them, how he was learning about all the great beers available, how he drives to northern VA to get quality beers not available locally; helpful without being pushy. Had Stone, Bells, Avery, DFH, local VA stuff like Williamsburg AleWerks, Tons of quality Belgians &... Cave Creek Chili Beer! Bought them as a novelty & they sell! Nice Gourmet Food & Wine selection as well. Do not miss this store if you are in the Virginia Beach area. Prices were very good, had a 10% case discount. One of the best beer shopping experiences Iíve ever had!!

A growing beer store in Virginia Beach, just what I need. Beer selection is expanding soon according to the owner. Beats making trips to Richmond for a case of Belgiums. Prices are much better also. They will hunt for anything just ask em. Iím happy.

By far the best best beer shop in Virginia Beach. As Kevin desribes the store "We are a beer store disguised as a wine shop". The beer selection increases weekly & has beers you cannot find elsewere in VB. Both Deborah & Kevin are friendly and extremely helpful. Stop by to pick up some brew or just chat about beer. Also they have a tasting on Thursdays.

Immediately greeted by Deborah as I walked in the door (in a non-pushy way) very friendly and no pressure. She says how may I help you and I reply, "I understand this is just a cover for a pretty good beer store". She got a kick out of that. I was introduced to Kevin and we talked candidly about beer...what do you like? whatís your favorite style? etc. He never tried to push anything on me but had a very nice selection. Says he will be leaning more to a hard to find selection vice readily available beer which is fine with me. Nice to have someone go out of there way to please the minority (beer customers) in the wine and gourmet shop. Also, if you donít see what you want just tell him and he will go out of his way to get it, even if it means a little drive to northern VA. Prices seem fair and I believe a few cents less then other local shops. Donít drive through the Rose Hall area without stopping here!

Deborah and Kevin let me start by saying that the two of you have done wonderful things with this store in a short period of time. Kevin gets new beers in weekly it seems like. If you want something just ask and he will try to get it. Finally we have some place to go in VB to get the good beer. Pretty soon Kevin will have as much beer as Deborah has wne.

like immy said, this is mostly a wine and "gourmet" shop, but they do stock a variety of hard to find micros. alpha klaus, black sun, brian boru, stone 10th, dfh punkin and worldwide, allagash 11th, the williamsburg alewerks selects, left hand, among many others. both kevin and deborah were very friendly and helpful. kevin explained that heís trying to stock top quality and hard to find rarities. the prices are what they are. youíre definitely paying for what youíre getting, but itís worth it when you find something special. besides, the less expensive beer is across the street. next time youíre in the area, stop by. youíre sure to find something thatíll strike your fancy!

Edit: i went about 6 mos. without stopping back into this store, but when i finally got back in, WOW what a difference! iíve since been back in a few times, and every time, iím blown away. kevin has done an excellent job stocking the beer wall. tons of great, hard to find beer. if you canít find something youíll absolutely love here, then youíre crazy. best spot in virginia beach!

Not really a beer store, but they do stock several seasonals and rarities. The great part is the service - they will try to get ANYTHING. I asked for two rather hard to get Allagash beers (Interlude and 11th) and they had them the next day! Stock select 3F and Stone, plus others. Worth a check if you are in the area. They do free wine tastings (with some food, too) every Friday, and when a single vineyard is featured, the taste a few beers, too.br UPDATE 01DEC06 - Kevin has REALLY ramped up his selection! This is quickly becoming a must see in Virginia Beach! br UPDATE 13JUN07 - this is now officially THE place in Virginia Beach to find beer! Kevin is shooting for 300 different beers, and should soon attain that goal. Combine that with excellent service and Kevinís willingness to go to the ends of the earth to find the beer you want and you get a top-notch beer store disguised as a wine and gift shop. FINAL UPDATE: Kevin has lost his mind and finally surpassed the 5
