64 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 11/20 notalush (279) Denver, Colorado | October 18, 2009| Updated January 18, 2010 [been coming here for a few months - still a good store, but stock doesn’t turn over at all, and they don’t seem to get new stuff in, like, ever - there is plenty worth grabbing here, but I don’t come often] This store is down the block from my place, and it has become my "grab some beer on the way home from work" place - a nice wine shop in Park Hill, with a fairly extensive beer selection that equals quite a few other Denver stores - comprehensive selection of regional micro six packs, decent selection of craft bombers and 750s (Boulevard, JP, Odell, etc.), small but well selected belgians (Dupot, etc.), including a few lambics (Girardin Black Label, Liefman’s Framboise, etc.) - quite a few German beers - this is also the only store that still has Bristol XXX Warlock on the shelves - decent prices on most items - friendly, hippie-ish staff, that actually seems to know something about the beer they’re selling - about 500 feet from a decent bakery and coffee shop - not a store to make a special trip for, but this is no neighborhood beer store to shake a stick at - this area of town has needed an entry on ratebeer. |
