Nice ambiance, not too big place. Not too crowded during my visit, but still lively place. Good cask selection, some nice local brews. Worth visiting.

Fairly close to the Chinatown area, if youíre heading here from Lime Street Station youíll see the entrance to this around about the point where you need to turn into Knight Street to reach The Grapes. Itís not that far up the hill either so you should see its hanging sign. Itís not the largest pub in the world with a bar area that comes up to the buildings perimeter on two sides, strutting out so much it gets close to both side walls and thereís not a lot of room for manoeuvre here, especially if there is a group standing at the bar. There are slightly larger seating areas in whatís left of the space in two areas at the extremities of the bar, but it will not take too long for them to fill up on a popular night. Itís all wooden in design and furniture, but has more of a feel of a Bohemian music pub than a traditional drinking joint, however the drink selection is very worthy. Thereís two rows of hand pumps on different parts of the bar backed up by some worthwhile keg and bottled ales - all of which have a local or regional microbrewery focus.

Like so many pubs in Liverpool, not a large but interesting selection in another interesting/famous pub. This one is very vibrant in the evenings!

Corner pub with a solid cask range. Nice relaxing place to enjoy a pint. Thereís not a whole lot of seating but fine if you donít mind propping up at the bar. Good option with so many worthwhile pubs in the area.

Small 1.5-room boozer (a charming if slightly tatty loungelet in the back) with nine real ales available. Ok, only six were available on my visit but it was match day to be fair. The likes of Salopian, Oakham and Deeply Vale breweries are available. The beer is incredible and the beer list well thought out. Good service, a bit cliquey but not enough to bother me. Straddles the divide between arty and old-fashioned. A pub for old men and young men on the fast track to oldmanhood.

Great spot, a highlight in Liverpool. They have a solid range of cask ales including locals. They also had some local stuff in bottle. Laid-back atmosphere, friendly service, average value. Pretty convenient. A must-visit.

Good range of local cask and bottles from the local(ish) Tatton brewery. Music on some nights. Good service, short on seating!

One of the many great real ale pubs located in the Georgian Quarter of Liverpool. Welcoming, relaxing atmosphere. A small, traditional, street corner local with an L-shaped bar serving nine cask ales from mostly regional breweries. Smiling and friendly service. Live jazz on Sundays (visited, 07.04.2013).
