76 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 smoosh (35) New Albany, Indiana | April 20, 2013 A very cool space and they were having an Irish music jam while we were there. I told my wife it felt like steerage on the Titanic if you remember that scene from the movie! I had a very nice porter and really enjoyed myself. Looking forward to returning. | 78 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 16/20 Drake (392) Ivy, Virginia | February 19, 2013 Finally got here. Shame on me for not getting here sooner. As an earlier rater said, man cave is a good way to describe this place. It’s a garage with a bar, darts, lots of televisions, some room to roam. Eclectic decor. They had just opened on a weekday and it was fairly packed with people watching a soccer match. Several beers on tap and a 4 x 4 ounce sampler for $6. Beers were excellent overall. Plenty of parking nearby and it’s walkable from downtown Asheville. Bartender was great. Will definitely stop by again. | 78 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 16/20 deyholla (200) Oklahoma City, Oklahoma | February 4, 2013 Stopped in during my visit to Asheville. A rather small brewpub that had a bit of age and a lot of kitsch. Servers were nice and pretty knowledgeable. There were 8 or 9 beers on and the possibility to get a sampler. Some pretzels available but no real food. Prices were quite good. | 84 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 20/20 MlhopeTC (18) Orlando, Florida | October 24, 2012 Very cool brewery. Maybe my favorite in Asheville. In a garage basically. Cool people, cool beers, and darts. Can’t beat that ;) They had their porter on cask with coco nibs from an area chocolate maker, and that stole the show for me. Their ESB was also one of the best I’d ever had, and the IPA and pale ale were very enjoyable too. They only had 5 beers on though, which was a bit of a bummer since the 5 they had were so good. Would have loved to try more! | 54 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 10/20 maxwelldeux (59) Raleigh, North Carolina | September 1, 2012 Not a bad place, but I didn’t find anything particularly special about. They had 5 of their own beers on tap (1 cask), and about that many more from other breweries. It was really hot in there, since thy don’t have AC. Beer was OK, but not all that great. I did enjoy the free pretzels and mustard. And it’s dog friendly, which was great. | 70 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 12/20 Travlr (999) Washington, Washington DC | July 14, 2012 Cool little place south of diwntown, in a devastated neighborhood. A.k.a Dirty Jacks. Just four of their own beers, nothing soecial. But they did have a half dizen or so good guest taps. Free pretzels and amazing mustard. Worth a look. | 68 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 14/20 b3shine (179) Cincinnati, Ohio | July 9, 2012 A short walk away from the heart of downtown, this spot was very busy (and a little understaffed) while we were there, which made service slow. Not bad, but I prefer other local brewpubs. | 62 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 12/20 musinj6 (26) St. Louis, Missouri | May 7, 2012 People are very nice and the beer they had on tap was good. Unfortunately, only 2-3 brews on tap of their own make. Good selection of other local beers, but still only a few. Great outdoor seating and I could see how this could be a great local hang out. I’d like to see more from Green Man. I think they can bring it! | 82 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 18/20 gvmdw7 (37) California | March 25, 2012 I really wanted to rate this place higher, but they only had 3 of their own brews on tap. The atmosphere was awesome; it’s every man’s dream cave. They did have plenty of guest brews. My favorite place in Asheville so far (out of 5). | 82 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 16/20 Braudog (655) Hampton, Virginia | October 7, 2011 October 2011. This place has a groovy atmosphere, essentially the prototypical hippie brewery in Asheville. The first time we tried to visit during their advertised open hours, we were dismissed ... not sure why. but the following afternoon we visited and were pleasantly entertained. The beers are solid all the way around ... and we really enjoyed all the Green Man-themed decor and uber-friendly crowd. Would definitely include this in my top 3 stops in any return to A-ville.
