Pretty decent beer selection here: a few micros, quite a bit of imports. Thereís always something Iíd like to try here. The best thing about Greenís is the price. Itís so cheap. This doesnít really hold a candle to the Atlanta locations due to SC beer laws, but itís worth a stop to stock up if in the area. [August 20, 2009] Ah, how Greenís has vastly improved what with the new laws and whatnot. The beer selection is now out of control. Lots of rare gems like Mekeller, Oskar Blues, Ballast Point, Founders, Reaper Ales, etc. etc. Prices are fair or cheap. I asked some questions and received great answers and helpfulness. I shall return.
Large store with excellent selection for the area. Quite a few German and Belgian beers available. Mainly has macros but has one of the best selections of micros and imports in the area. Not nearly the selection you find at Greenís in Atlanta but not bad/
Iím writing from memory here, so I havenít visited since the change in SC alcohol laws. Iíll update when I do. Big warehouse style store focused mostly on wine (they have a house sommelier), but with a few aisles of beer as well. Itís situated right on the interstate, which makes it a very convenient stop when passing through Columbia.
i had never been in a two sided liquor store. suppose some law about mixing beer/wine with harder stuff. beer selection was average at best. i did get a bottle of coach spurrier wine though. probably wont find that in many places.
Rather a split-personality kind of experience, this place. The beer lover whoís noticed the pitiful unavailability of beer of any worth in the townís grocery stores will be overjoyed on the selection here. But be prepared for service that is absolutely in the toilet. You can wander the aisles completely ignore, and try asking for help if you donít mind getting your head chewed off. The most unfriendly, surly staff I have encountered anywhere. Itís enough to keep me out of the store, actually, and do with the average Flying Dog I can find in Bi-Lo or the better imports in the package store on Ft. Jackson, where they always call me Sir. Goodbye, Greens.
Got my first opportunity to stop by this location after passing it MANY times on I-26. Big thanks goes out to Joseph for hooking me up. Thanks again man! This is by far the best Greenís as far as beer selection I have ever been to. We have one here in Greenville and the beer selection is laughable. This location is EPIC. Went to pick up two growlers only and left with a case. Oops. The beer is laid out nicely in the back right of the store and is quite easy to spot from I-26. Will definitely be stopping in when I pass by from now on. Nice work guys!
