78 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20 chinchill (17) South Carolina | January 2, 2013 Large selection and some of the best prices in SC. Particularly strong in regional craft beers and European beers. Don’t miss the separate small high-end beer room on right soon after entering the store. | 100 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 20/20 bsdefoor (1) Greenville, South Carolina | October 16, 2012 one word...awesome! best growler station in town! | 70 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 14/20 JCB (174) Durham, North Carolina | May 13, 2012 My final stop on the whirlwind lunchtime beer tour of Greenville, SC, via car. Beer section here was configured awkwardly, in a weirdly triangular section of the store tucked away with a separate entrance and all. But it was definitely worth a stop, given the growler station and the above average selection of local and national craft, with a fairly decent selection of imports too. | 68 AMBIANCE 1/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 14/20 beernovice39 (196) Montana | February 27, 2012 Smaller than the Columbia warehouse but still great selection of imports. | 94 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 19/20 zende62 (1) | February 13, 2012 Great selection...only 4 taps but what they get is good and bargain priced. Definitely your best overall option for craft beer in the Upstate. | 84 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 b79turner (31) Alabama | June 23, 2011 Good selection of beers, not much else to say about this place, go check it out if you’re in the area. | 72 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 ScottButler (12) | July 9, 2010 Nice store...a good temp controlled room for the high-end beers. Good selection, but rarely any gems. | 74 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 lithy (156) Capital of Appalachia, Pennsylvania | June 7, 2010 Odd duck. Large selection but little of note. A couple pricy Cascade fruit sours, but almost no local or even regional beer. Only singles in the cooler, no mixed sixes etc. Discount for cash/debit. | 66 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 thagr81_us (24) Gaffney, South Carolina | April 29, 2010 This is basically just like any other Green’s that you might find elsewhere. They have a decent selection of beers to go around with quite a few limited releases popping up every now and again. If you pay in cash you can get a nice little discount as well. Service here kinda sucks unless you are looking for wine, but there are one or two people there who know their beer. Overall this is a nice location to check for some harder to find brews, but I wouldn’t go more than twice a month. | 70 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 16/20 branimal9 (14) Greenville, South Carolina | January 18, 2010 Green’s has a pretty good selection, and I like their Belgian / Craft beer cooler, especially during the summer. They do a good job getting interesting offerings into the store. I’ve never found their service to be anything special, but I usually don’t ever ask for any help. They also run interesting sales on overstocks or soon to go out-of-date items, which you can sometimes get very cheaply. They also have a limited amount of glassware, which is nice. Worth stopping by if you are in the area. |
