This is not the biggest store out there, but the selection is world class. Every inch of the store is covered with bottles, glassware, cooler front or the growler station. Both Cam and Zak take the time to help if you need assistance. Taps are always flowing with local and some very hard to come by beers. The foreign selection has some of the most esoteric beers I have seen. They also have a selection of gluten-free beer. There is cider and mead available for those that care to venture outside the bottle. They have started shipping as well.

You cant pass thru Greenville without stopping here. The beer selection is great, the glassware selection is off the chain, and Cameron and Zach are legit. All around great spot!

I love this place! The staff is the most knowledgable that I’ve ever encountered. Cameron is a walking beer encyclopedia. Ask him about a style & he’ll give you brewery histories, brewing styles and walk you around the store to point you in the direction of some esoteric stuff that you’d never have glanced at otherwise. Of course, this also means that I can’t get out of the place without spending half my paycheck, but at least it keeps my beer cellar looking interesting! The selection here is incredible, especially their wide variety of international beers. And the growler station may very well be the best one in town. They also have weekly free tastings every Thursday. I unfortunately never get to go to those because I work evenings but when I read their weekly newsletters, I’m constantly jealous of everyone that gets to attend. Parking right near the store can be tricky since it’s in the heart of downtown, but GBX will give you a parking pass that allows you to park in any of the city’s paid lots for free for 30 minutes. Pretty great.

This is the place. The service is top flight and the selection cannot be beat. Weekly tastings are accompanied by education on styles and brewery history. Some tastings are even done with local food shops to demonstrate proper pairings. The shop is also dog friendly. Located in the heart of downtown Greenville, it’s easy to find. It’s also next door to Greenville’s best beer bar. You really need to stop in and visit if you’re in town.

This place can be a pain in the arse to find, but well worth the effort. Parking is best in one of the nearby garages - I lucked out and parked in front, but could stay only 15 minutes. Service is first-rate - the fellow pointed me straight to some excellent South Carolina brews, and managed to get me out in time. He even came after me when I left my oh-so-important beers tried list hardcopy behind - extra point there! Prices appear to be reasonable. I hope that next time I visit Greenville I can spend more time in this great beer boutique.

I have visited the Greenville Beer Exchange somewhat regularly since last summer as it is on my way from Atlanta to Charlotte and I make a point to stop in every time I go to see the the folks. The selection is absolutely fantastic and is organized in a way that it is quite easy to find exactly what you are looking for. The guys who run the shop, Zach and Cameron, are extremely knowledgeable about their stock and have helped me on a number of occasions to choose beer for not only myself but my trading partners and mother as well. (My mother loves the funk and there is never a short supply or new things to try) In addition to the wonderful selection and employees, the fact that the shop is dog friendly is a huge plus for me. As I stated earlier, I am normally traveling when I visit the shop so it’s nice that I can bring my giant lab in with me to stretch his legs. All in all, this is a world class beer shop that should be a must stop for anyone passing through the area.

What can I say that hasn’t been said...this place rocks. Walked out with 3+ cases of unrated beer (mix of locals on Imports I haven’t seen) - for me, that’s huge! Guys are very helpful...if this place was local to me, I would come here every week.

This place is great. I really like the fact that you get to know the owners and the people that work there. The beer tastings are a great way to meet other beer nerds and try new brews. Selection is probably more that anyone could hope for. They seem to have most of the well respected micro brews there. The value is about on par with other beer places. Some are a bit more expensive, some are a bit less expensive. Overall a great place and the go to beer place in Greenville.

To say this is one of the best beer stors in the world is not an opinion but merely a statement of fact. Located on what seems like a sleepy side street, but in fact just around the corner from Barley’s, this place is like a temple beer. As others have noted the selection is fantastic full of great brewers from all over the world with plenty of seasonals and a couple of rarities to whet your whistle. The service was very kind and hospitable and they seemed very enthusiasitic when we mentioned we’d heard about their store on rate beer. They’re very big fans of the site. Parking one the street is limited but there’s a parking garage a block away and they also gave us a voucher for 30 minutes of parking which was very nice. I can’t wait to go back again.
