First customers of the day: 11th Dec 2014. Really liked the layout and ’coolness’ of the whole place. A lovely cellar set up with a never ending corridor like length of rooms: all laid out for Christmas parties and groups of people we never actually saw come in. Two beers on tap, each bland and uninteresting. Lady who served us would rather chat to other members of staff and eat than pour my beers: good job no one else was within a mile of her bar area!

First appearance is awesome. Dark underground cellars with plenty of copper tanks, wooden barrels and stuffed animals. Selection is poor, unless you prefer pork legs :) Service is average, prices are acceptable, seems good place for having parties...

Huge basement brewery / bar with several rooms. Noone else but us, when we entered thursday around 16.00. 2 beers on tap, a pils and a wiess. Both where ok, but nothing to exciting. Ok service and prices.

Visited July 2013. There is some ambiance to this place but little else to recommend it, although we did not eat. A cellar bar, no windows if I remember right. The disused brew kit is near the servery and there is apparently one they actually use somewhere else in the huge building. Thetwo hazy/cloudy beers were pretty average/poor. Spend more time at Altes Madchen instead of coming here.

This place is HUGE! It’s like five or six rooms into the basement, it’s like it never stops! Even though it’s this big, it has a lot of people without getting crowded, or so it was this Saturday when I visited at least. One or two beers on tap, I had a one liter glass of pilsner and their schweinshaxe, and what a great meal! Very tasty and SO MUCH FOOD! Not suitable for tickers, perfect for German culture lovers.

60 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 6/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 13/20
Visited on a Friday night in July ’08.
Long cellar bar, dark and lots of bricks, wooden benches.
There were around 8 or 9 of us so we settled down with our own tapped keg of the pils (ave) placed on the table and shared a few large food plates.
Good vibes, busy Friday night feel good type of thing.
Beer was average, food ok, service fine.

Went there with big group of people after a convention. Nice Cellar atmosphere, but very crowded and noisy. Their beers are ok but nothing spectacular. The food looks impressive 8especially if you order big plates for larger groups) and typical german but I had much better in Hamburg and in Germany in general. But anyway it is not like Hamburg has many beer places to offer ... :D

Low ceilinged cellar that stretches all the way back from Willy-Brandt-Str to Zippelhaus - this seems to have taken over the now-closed Brauhaus Hanseat. Typical uninspired German brewpub with just the Pils on offer, plus a seasonal if you’re lucky. It’s mainly a restaurant and can get crowded and noisy. Service is slow, and the waitress - who wasn’t even the one who’d taken my order - helped herself to a tip without me even offering, which is definitely Not On in German culture.

Cozy but somewhat noisy place located in a cellar with a restaurant in the back, but we were just there for the drinks, so we sat out the front. The service was efficient. The selection of beers is limited to just their Pils and Weizen, which are both decent.
