The beer was better than the venue. Open spaces and another safe place to take the family. Nothing too spectacular. The beer selection was solid with eight beers for the flight at the time.

Kind of a cool little suburb of D.C. that I never would have gone to if not off on some brewpub ticking mission. Place looks cool, as others have said. The stores across the street seem like old-west style stores. You can get here by taking a MARC train from D.C., but if you stay too late youíll end up busing to Rockville and catching the metro like me. Only had the fries, which were good enough. Good service. Their beers are mostly average, and prices were higher than youíd expect out in the middle of nowhere. They seem to do a better job on their more pedestrian styles than their bigger beers.

Needed my Maryland place tick :). Decent enough place on the corner in a trafficy part of town. Street parking available. Place was not busy even though it was St. Pattyís Day, which was interesting. They had 11 of 12 taps running, and sold flights of any six (your choice). They had a good range of styles including a couple of barrel aged entries and a sour. I had a mediocre appetizer and rated my way through the flight. Service was fine in my personal experience. Beers were kinda meh, with one pretty bad and one pretty good. Prices were kinda nasty.

UPDATED REVIEW: Growlersí beers have come a long way since my first review more than 6 years ago. Quality is much better (though not all beers are winners), and they offer more beers on tap than they used to, including many interesting seasonals and big ales over 9% ABV. Regular prices are about $5-7 per beer, and happy hour gives a $2 discount. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Iíll be blunt - Growlersí beers are pretty poor. Many have off flavors or other apparent defects. Still, they keep enough beers on tap that there is usually something decent, and they rotate the selection often enough that thereís often something new to try. And with drafts as low as $2.50 or $3 at times, itís hard not to call it a bargain. Growlers gets a mixed crowd of 20- to 40-somethings that seems to lean toward the dressed-down local crowd. Overall, itís a pretty good local joint, but the beers are not worth going out of your way for, in my opinion.

Downtown style brewpub. Decent sized bar was about 3/4 full at 6PM on a Tuesday. Nearby parking garages. Decent burger. cooked to my specifications. Customer service was awful. I didnít even see the bartender for about 10 minutes, she was frequently absent and when she was present she was pretty unfriendly. She even chastised me when I put a glass where she did like it. Two beers were drinkable, but the rest were abjectly horrible. Diacetyl bombs or overly astringent. Definitely not a beer destination.

Interesting old building. Long bar in the front room, tables in the next room. Really friendly and helpful staff. Beers were OK. Pizza was decent enough. OK place.

What a difference a new head brewer makes! Previously, I had found their beers mostly mediocre. Now they brew a very interesting and varied selection of quite good beers. The food has always been decent and prices are reasonable for the area. What was once a "why bother" spot is now my "go to" spot when in the Gaithersburg area. Overall, a most welcome improvement.

Lots of variety with 12 taps, but unfortunately not much stands out. The service is decent. The food, like the beer, is adequate, but nothing special.

Shocked to see such low reviews. This place is right in "downtown" Gaithersburg, which has 2 stop lights. Driving in here beware there are a butt ton of traffic cameras and speed cameras. Parking is decently ample at the free public lot behind the building. No meters. Inside is a very beautiful New Orleans style high wooden beams, mirrors, chandeliers. There is a downstairs bar and seating area, middle floor loft, and a roof deck. Roof deck was packed when I was there on a Tuesday early evening. Beers on tap were of decent quality. I didnít get any major off flavors or brewing flaws mentioned in previous ratings. More than 8 taps- at least 6 static house beers on tap and then another 6 specialty seasonal taps. I ordered a flight, which gets you 6 house beers and you donít have to do their 6 static taps- you can sub in some of the specialty stuff for an extra $1 or something. Bartender was quick, pleasant, but probably not a beer expert. Was slightly unclear about their Pale Ale versus their IPA after pouring, but these are the same color so is understandable but very annoying to me a beer rater. Didnít try the food, but it was clear this place has a full sit down lunch and dinner menu with servers and hostess. So a big more formal than you might think. They do have growler fills, surprise, of their house beers. Donít think they have any guest taps here. Would come back and would urge you to give this place a shot. Doesnít deserve a 2-star rating. Maybe they finally hired a competent brewer.

We went on a Friday night and they had a band that was playing that was doing well until they had one of their girlfriends come up and scream into the microphone. Young crowd with an outside patio and large bar inside. About 8 taps of beer and honestly the first one i drank was very bad and i had to stop drinking it. I saw saison on the board and ordered it, i didnt see above that it said Lemon Pepper. Needless to say i wasnít prepared after a heavy night of drinking at Dogfish head and had to switch to bottled swill.
