A small pub with guest beers usually from some local newish breweries eg. Windsor & Eton / East London Brewery etc. Did have a London brewery fest about a year ago which was good as had beers on stillage in the back room aswell as beers passing through the handpumps. But the high prices put me off this pub.

First visit to this great little pub last night, only to find they were running a beer Festival. I didn’t appreciate that this was Stonch’s pub at the time, but we really quite enjoyed it. On our vote going home it equalled the pub of the night. I have put a good mark for selection as the Winter Ales Fest was on, there were some big beers on that’s for certain. I would imagine it’s quite a bit more restricted normally. The pub itself is a bit higgeldy piggeldy with a hump to get over, tricky with a handfull of beers. Great little pub though, shame it’s shut at weekends.
Revisit Feb ’13. Unfortunately the beer quality in here was pretty poor on this visit, the service remains decent and the food looks fine. The prices seem to have shot up.

The Gunmakers is small pub located less than 2 minutes walk from The Craft Beer Co. There were 4 cask beers on when I visited, plus 4 keg options including two beers from the fantastically mediocre Meantime Brewery. As others have pointed out, the prices are pretty steep; I paid £2 for a half of beer by Windsor & Eton. The ambiance is fine, full of office types. The food looked good. Overall, this pub isn’t much of a destination, though it wouldn’t be a bad choice on a Holborn/Clerkenwell pub crawl.

Decent pub. Five casks I think. Nothing too exciting on my visit, but they did have two Redemption beers, which is good to see. Prices seemed a bit high (A half of Hook Norton bitter ran me almost £2). Nice ambiance, although this is a fairly small pub that feels even smaller due to low ceilings. The clientele struck me as quite ’hip’. A nice pub to check out but it probably wouldn’t make my top 20 in London.

Small, tidy pub run by blogger Stonch. It has a relaxed, laid back, up-market feel. Quite pleasant, and while being fairly unremarkable, is also quite likeable. Hard to explain sometimes why a building has charm, but the size and layout and ambiance of this one gives it a certain charm, which people have remarked upon for several years, long before Stonch took over. Four casks, nothing special, but served in decent condition. Other than size there isn’t a real lot of essential difference between this and the Yorkshire Grey around the corner, but this is quaint, while the Grey is simply useful. Not worth a detour - especially as the beer selection is just under average for London, but if you’re doing a crawl of the Clerkenwell area and you collect pubs this is very close to Craft Beer.

A really good pub with fantastic food and some good cask ales. Friendly service and well worth a visit. Four cask ales of which two rotate i think, a thornbridge beer on when visited last time.

Felt like a very good local rather than a beer geek destination. Tiny pub with 4 real ales on tap. Beers well priced and menu looked but I didn’t order food. Better with a bunch of mates me thinks. Still a good place to check out.

Go here for Cask-ale (period.) Their draught lineup is your typical London Pub with your mainstream beers, but their cask line up was superb! All in great condition, staff were more than friendly, and the ambiance is wicked. We ordered potato chips that were mouth-watering and went really well with our beers.

Cool pub, kind of like a smaller version of the Napier, and in London. Lovely folk on either side of the bar (lots of "loves" and "darlins"), four beers in good nick (well, the ones I had were) and really good food. Probably not a must-see for the RB crowd, but well worth a look. A cut above most of the London beer destinations.

Gunmakers is a bustlin’ little place! Cozy joint set amongst brick apartment blocks. The staff are brilliant - extremely friendly and jovial. Only 4 handpumps on offer so perhaps not ideal for tickers but all were new for me. I didn’t eat but the food being served looked devine - and the inviting aromas wafted through the bar. I really enjoyed my time here and will return again.
