came here for beer and dinner on a weeknight. on street parking was abundant and i even got to walk rr track. large open seating area with a somewhat small bar. it took a little bit of time for service until the place cleared a selection was their regulares plus fred from the wood. more bottles for onsite consumption. i ordered tge dteak sandwich which was excellent. 1 full size beer, 4 tasters, dinner was $20 before gratuity. very cool gwant.

Hot diggity damn, this place is awesome. The quality of beer you get here is consistently amazing, and (assuming you like the styles) you will not be disappointed. The food is decent, but nothing special. My only complaint is that Iíd like to see more variety in beers and styles, but I understand their business model enough to appreciate it. The vintage bottles they have available, while expensive, are completely worth it, as they are expertly brewed and aged. No complaints, and Iíd happily come back.

This is exactly what youíd hope a taproom would be. Nicely laid out area with ample indoor and outdoor (weather permitting) seating. Friendly, knowledgeable service, and a healthy list of their beers on tap and in bottles - they get a little selection bump simply because, being from the midwest, this was a treat of rare beers. The food was quite tasty too!

Awesome pub with great food, good service and an amazing bottle list. Some of the bottles can be a bit pricey, but for an out-of-towner like me it was nice to get a shot at some things and split with a few buddies. They seem to always have something cool on top, as well. When I was there they had Cherry Adam aged in Brandy barrels and it was incredibly delicious. Highly recommended.

Good ambiance -- nice garage-brewery vibe. The service was pretty quick, a little pretentious, but thatís okay. The selection was good, I think everything was available on tap that I wanted to try. The value was decent. Overall, definitely a portland landmark, I donít know if it lives up to the hype...

Been here many times. Bottle releases, Fred Fest, anniversary party, or just to have a beer or bite. Service is always great and they vibe throughout is really that of Alanís. Great space with nice feel on a warm day with the garage windows up. Always something interesting on tap and plenty of cool/old/rare bottles on the list to drink on site. Food is always fantastic and usually a good value. Even if not eating a meal, consider having some Adam cheesecake to go with that bottle you are enjoying.

Total pilgrimage. Interestingly, not all the beers were on form when we were there but Adam really was, and so was Little Dog. Fun place, lively, and the menu looks good too.

Stoked to visit upon knowing Iíd have a chance to visit Portland - had a few at the OBF before trekking across the bridge and finding this diamond in the rough - as others have mentioned, the ambiance isnít anything to remark about, but it works. Beer selection was very solid - had Adam from the Wood as the íspecial tapí, which was right up my alley. Prices seemed reasonable given the quality of the beer. Vintage list quite impressive. Would definitely return in the future...

The HOTD taproom has eight of their beer on tap, including Blue Dot and Bourbon Fred from the Wood when I visited. The atmosphere is a bit hip, but not sufficient to scare people off, with mostly young visitors, enjoying the local beers and food from the open kitchen. This is one of the musts in Portland. Visited right at opening hours, along with about half a dozen others. Beautiful, open-air bar/restaurant right across from a costume shop. Awesome. Even with a small push right on opening, the staff was friendly and ready to talk about the beers. Nothing too special on tap, but itís HOtD; Iím not complaining when I can get flights of Adam, Fred, Lila, and Doggie Claws. Good value, and the food was good; had a plate of simply-prepared potatoes, mushrooms, onions and peppers. Got some bottles to go, also reasonably priced. Must-visit.
