It’s a small warehouse, with nice timber beams, pillars, counter, although the kitchen island disturbs the sight; very relaxed atmosphere, although at the time of the visit the music was not always the best, at least the level is very soft and the conversation is possible. The food selection is small but I hope I will manage to try it someday. Wifi available.
I feel like being in the belly of America. Said so, it’s a pilgrimage place, but not the most impressive one.

Not a wide choice, but Most of their beers, other when IPA’s are exceptional.
IPA is below average.

Perhaps the crown jewel of the Portland breweries. Cool industrial space with a really open feel to it. U-shaped bar and plenty of tables all around the outside.
Perhaps a little hard to judge the service here as they let our group in early, gave us some free tastes, and a tour for the RBSG group. But all well appreciated and everyone who came in later seemed to be well taken care of.
Kind of amazing, even shocking, that these guys basically haven’t updated or improved anything in 20+ years since they started in the early 90s. Everything basically done manually, by hand, with no automation.
The beers here, are mostly good. Though of course I sought to try some of the random new stuff I had not had before, so some of those were misses. But overall good prices on everything and some cool tap room only offerings as well as lots of neat bottles.
The food here was also quite good as well, which I was a bit surprised by for some reason. Highly recommend a stop for lunch.

Its hair of the dog! First of all, street parking is quite easy, which is nice. Place has a smallish outdoor patio and a large open interior with tables and a "U" bar. There is a side bar as well, but be aware that you wont get waited on there. Once I got a seat at the bar, service was solid, not amazing. Taplist was pretty awesome, including a few things I had not tried before. Bottle list for onsite was similarly awesome, including a lot of aged HOTD bottles. Plus of course that $1500 Dave. They still had Adam FTW to go when I was there, which was like icing on the cake. Food was solid as well. Great place. Wish the AC worked a bit better.

I had very high expectations for this place. And it was more than I expected. After a short walk from the downtown over the bridge we arrived to this magical place. It was Tuesday just past midday and there was plenty of space to sit. The service was impeccable. Very friendly lady brought as tasty food and amazing beers. There were lots of old vintages of their greatest beers available. I had for example Matt which rocketed to my RB rating #1. They also had Dave but $1500 was a bit too much. Altogether 8 taps, 7 own ones and one 3 Floyds when we visited. My absolute favourite in Portland and one of the best in the world. Definitely worth visiting.

Great place. Nice selection of beers available, including plenty that you can only drink on site. Pretty big but a nice atmosphere. Next time, I think I’ll spend longer here. Thanks to Doug for showing us around this day.

I come here every year for Fredfest and sometimes in between. There is a nice horseshoe bar with a dozen or so taps of excellent to great beers. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. This is one of the Portland beer geek centers. Kudos to Allen.

Pretentious, slow service, and the food was better than the beer. Tasting room looked exceptional if you want to drop $70 on a 12 oz pour.
All in all Hair of the Dog is a legendary brewery, with massive abstract brews. A must go for any beer fiend.
