Huge and great at one time, but very dated and a bit tired now. Service was good, but nothing great. Beer flights available. Lots on the beer list, menu for food was bit tired as well. Go to see some local beer history and its close to other breweries, but a little disappointing.

Cool expansive brewpub with lots of seating. A bunch of house beers on tap, none of which were very impressive but all competent. Service was a bit lackluster, taking a bit of time to bring our beers and bring us the bill. Cheap samplers / flights makes this a decent stop for tickers. Not really a must stop but if youíre in the area, itís not a bad one.

Nice pub, a lot of space inside, with view on the copper tanks, and a small patio for sunny days; many beers on tap (13 own, 5 guests); the quality of the beers is rather low, donít expect much, indeed the guest taps may be better; they may enforce a self-rule of max 4 tasters per person. Wifi available; clean toilets. Didnít eat there, but they have a reasonable menu.
With all the things happening in Seattle, I donít understand why they donít improve the beers.

Walkable from Fremont and Brouwerís, Hales is a classic, above-average brewpub, making fine NW pale ales and otherwise predictable but clean renditions of many other styles. The location is not the most spectacular, on a largeish brewpub between Fremont and Ballard, featuring only a smallish dining/tap room, but a nice open view on the brewery when you enter. It canít be tagged a priority, but is a quality brewpub that should be on your list if stayign in Seattle several days.

One of the originals, the brewpub is big, lots of seating and usually very busy. They offer brewery tours. Guest taps and a lot of their own beers, so the selection is decent. Worth a stop in.

I was pleasantly surprised by this venue as on my long crawl a few people suggested if I ran out of time to skip this venue and go to others! Luckily I did have time. Was well impressed with the Super Goose 7.1 being cask! The Porter and the Red were above average. Service a bit slow as only 1 guy behind a fairly busy bar.

Iím gonna talk about the food but the beer because I took a beer tour with a friend and when they took us to hales ales, they didnít have any good beer to serve to us so.... The food that they gave us was amazing. They served a bbq chicken pizza. They were like four pieces of pizza that were just marvelous... That was the best bbq chicken pizza Iíve ever had. And the brewery was just like helll.... I mean... Beautiful

Pretty neat place. Large glass walls allow you to watch the beer being brewed while you relax and enjoy your pint. They offer a large variety of beers from which to choose, in pints, schooners or even a sampler platter. There have at least two beers on nitro tap. The place is clean and relatively quiet with large windows that let in lots of light. The booths are large and comfortable, so itís a great place for a good conversation. The service is always quick and excellent. The menu is about average for a brew pub--been here many times and although the food is pretty good, I havenít eaten anything outstanding. Prices are about average for a brewpub in this area.

(Visited 09/2012 on the Seattle Road Dogs Tour): Haleís is located north of downtown Seattle in the Fremont area on Leary Way. Street parking is available right next to the building.

The building opens up to an entry way with a door leading to a bar and seating area. Some breweriana around the bar. Outside the bar is the brewery complete with some historical information.

Haleís has 10 or 12 of their beers on tap including HSB, Cream Ale, Troll Porter, OíBrianís Harvest and Red Menace. They have a sampler as well. All of the beers I tried were pretty average. A couple of other craft breweries on tap like Everybodyís Brewing.

Service at the bar was pretty good for my one-person tour group. I also got to meet the brewer which was nice. My sandwich for lunch was tasty.

Overall this is a pretty good beer spot in Seattle.
