This taproom is a MUST visit. Half Acre has been my favorite Chicagoland brewery for quite a while. The people are really great. The new taproom is BEAUTIFUL. They always have a lot of special things in the taproom, and they have Firken Fridays! Visit this brewery if you visit Chicago. Bad apple is across the street. Fountainhead is 0.3 miles away. Make a day out of it!

Stopped in briefly to sample some beers and get some beer to go. I love the design of this place. so cool and hip looking, beers on tap were all good and the staff really took their time to chat with us. Prices were very fair. they gave me a sticker which was listed as a 50 cent cost.

Tasted all available beers with a detailed explanation of the nuances of them. Lots of locals dropped by for growlers.

Update: Now the actual tap room is open. They have 10 taps (I feel like they should have added more) that run the gamut. Will be tap room only beers coming along. Really great space, great prices and great staff. Pretty awesome stuff. Not sure I understand the ragging of the other reviews. Itís a store front for the brewery. If the shop is open, they pour growler fills and sell packaged beer of their own and other small breweries, as well as swag. Service is decent and the brewery is always open in the back if the store is. Nice vibe and good for the scene.

This is a brewery with a storefront to sell growlers and merch... To the tourists with false expectations, Half Acre is one of the most creative brewing operations in the city. Try supporting places that are really doing something for the local craft beer scene. "Almost-cocky" what does that even mean? Staff are laid-back and super friendly. Ive been going here since they opened, and its a solid place to get an ever-rotating selection of fresh craft beers in growler form, some are brewery-exclusive. Their bottle/can selection rotates weekly, and is different everytime I go. If youre looking for a bar, there are plenty of walkable options: Bad Apple, Fountainhead, Tiny Lounge, etc.

I thought this was a pretty sweet place. New feel, but at the same time a comfortable feel. I sat at the bar and the service was great. They offer samples of everything. The selection was good, I guess the downside would be only 10 offerings. Wish they had food, but not a deal breaker for me.

Absolutely cool tap room next to brewery. Had four or five beers not bottled or canned (to my knowledge) on tap. One 22 ounce bottle available in both taproom and brewery (no variety there). Very nice looking inside. Took the train from River North/Loop area and arrived a few blocks away. Friendly service. At 1pm on a weekday, plenty of room to sit with the kids and have a few beers. I want to go back!

Aw Hell Yeah, this is the spot. All they have is Half Acre Beers on tap, so if you have a problem wit that, then thatís your problem. Their prices are incredibly affordable, no flights but wit 8oz pours @ $3, WTF!!! Have all ten taps at an 8oz pour then hit up an Uber MoFo

Thought this place was a great visit. Nice looking tap room with a bunch of tables and a small bar as well. Definitely had a nice selection of beers at reasonable prices ($3-4 for 8 oz pours, $5-6 for 16oz pours, and $6-7 for 21oz pours). Great prices as far as Iím concerned. Had some cans available as well for on-site consumption. Store next door had stuff for sale as well, though I didnít get to check it out. Fairly busy for a Wednesday night, but we were able to grab a table. Bartenders were both really good, never took us more than a minute to order a brew. Great spot. I could see bring food in here an chilling for a while.
