Great place in the heart of the city. Huge selection of scandinavian craft beer as well as belgian sours. Some of the staff seemed to have good knowledge about beer. The food looked very nice, but the kitchen was closed when I went there.

Somehow this was a very difficult place to find, right in the heart of Oslo but due to the path taken to reach the marker, which at the time was placed around the corner exact at the street number, so technically correct, there’s nothing on that side of the building that indicates any restaurant. Google Maps even had it wrong and I’ve sent in a correction there as well. The entrance to Håndverkerstuene is the second door on the south of Kristian IVs gate, not Rosenkrantz’ gate. British Brown Bar / classy old restaurant feel with a small bar in the middle of the house stocking a number of Norwegian bottles and drafts. A lot of solid Haand bottles, Ægir, Lervig and more. Friendly staff enjoying their time working and offering good company and conversation. Food is old country kitchen traditional Norwegian meats, Reindeer, beef and duck and such. In central Oslo I’d say this is a must-visit while in town exploring beer. Good for exploring fresh bottles in a cozy setting.

First beer spot I visited upon arrival to Oslo, and the first beer I ordered (Haand Britannia) was the best beer of the 4-day visit (which I enjoyed an even fresher bottle of at Glod). Surprisingly a lot of the Haand beers weren’t very fresh, and this was true at other bars as well. Delightful bartenders (Patricia and an Icelandic lass whose name I cannot spell from memory...Hildur?), very willing to suffer our endless beer questions and queries about bottling dates. Very expensive, as pretty much everywhere else here, so it’s hard for someone with US currency to try 2 or 3 unusual beers without blowing nearly $50. Very fun night here though, and plenty of beers to choose from (about 8-10 taps, dozens and dozens of bottles). Lovely atmosphere too, kinda British-styled, dark and classy.

Quite a nice place with some Norwegian bottles i have been looking for, Lots on taps also. Service is good but what the H is a DJ doing in this place? Build up like a old Inn but for me this gets ruined by the recordspinning swedish guy in the middle of the room. Go here on a monday, not in the weekend

Great place! Lovely locale, ambience and food. The beer selection is among the best in Oslo.
The prices are STEEP however. Still, definetly worth a visit or ten.
